A penny ain't what it used to be. Should they do away with them???

Heard another story that the government wants to save money by doing away with the penny. Seems it cost more to make a penny, then what a penny is worth now. No...they are not copper anymore, either.

Anyway, it would mean everything was rounded up to the nearest nickle I guess.

SO...what do you think? Is a penny even worth keeping around anymore?

I think it's a good idea. I don't really think we need pennies, especially since they cost more to make than they are worth.

Ugh, yes... I'm constantly saying "Stupid pennies. Why do we still have them?" All they do is get all over the place & make it more annoying for clerks to make change. (Especially in the event their computer isn't working & they have to actually count... mreowr)

In Australia, they've already done away with pennies - ones and twos. They go by fives, and if there's odd change, they round up or down to the nearest five.

Personally, I like pennies, and wouldn't want them to be done away with.

I don't mind pennies, I still use them sometimes. If I have a whole bunch of them in my purse, I'll drop them all into those little donation boxes at the fast food places.

In my opinion, the U.S. Mint should give up producing those dumb dollar coins!

I think we could do away with pennies and be ok. I'm actually a fan of the dollar coins, pretty handy with tipping and parking meters/vending machines.
