Any specific breed of dog you especially love....or hate? Please tell us why.

Mutts. Living in Northern Canada, we have a lot of husky mixes, so they're nice, and a lot of Labrador mixes as well.

I have a Pitbull-Labrador now (Pitador), and he's the biggest goof of all time. So I partial to those two breeds currently.

I had a Westie for almost 15 years. He was the best dog in the world. Calm, sweet, smart and very laid-back. They are easily the best tempered dogs that I have ever come across.
That said, I would never get one again. All purebreds have health problems, white dogs tend to have skin and allergy problems and Westies especially tend to have diabetes and cushings.

He had staff infections on his skin for years, liver problems and a small brain tumor. In the last two years he developed diabetes and we had to give him insulin and check his blood sugar twice a day. I'm not saying that it wasn't worth it, we had had the little guy for 12 years at that point, and we would have done anything for him. But I don't think I would get another Westie knowing that that was coming.
