I'm thinking I should quit smoking. I'm just curious to know who here is a smoker.
Are you a smoker?

I smoke. I promised myself I'd quit when I graduate with my Bachelor's.

I used to smoke, but quit a long time ago (mostly). I will still light up a few if I go out to a bar, or am drinking with friends who smoke. I am lucky to be able to have a couple cigs, and not feel compelled to go back to the habit.

I am a smoker, but I have not smoked in about ten or so weeks. I had to make a choice; I had a very serious and nasty upper chest/lower throat infection where it looked like I swallowed acid and I could smoke, but rather than healing nicely, I would run the risk of scaring making it harder to heal in the future if it happened again. So I made the decision to stop smoking till it was fully healed.
Stopping smoking was easy. Really easy actually. It was stopping the hand habit of smoking was the hard part.
I refuse to say I've quit, because I haven't quit.

sucks but its true. I even put a nicotine patch on and that cuts my intake to about half but its not good for me. I think getting pregnant is about the only incentive strong enough to make me quit

You can switch to e-cigs. Much less toxic stuff in them but has the same dose of nicotine.

I am a smoker. I average about a half to full pack per day and do know how detrimental it is to my health. I also am not ready to quit at this point in my life, even though it is a consideration for the future.

I am a smoker, my Baby too, W/we use cigarette and pipe tobacco only (because of the harmful additives of packaged smokes), filling tubes to smoke them, and use rolling paper only when W/we are out of tubes and W/we forgot to get more to have handy. (Which happens very rarely.) W/we also smoke mullein when W/we have enough leaves dried, W/we grow some, and my Baby used to be into oregano, she showed it to me once, it is delicious, smells very good, but W/we haven't smoked any since that, I guess when W/we are in the mood again W/we will...

I smoke and am currently trying to switch to e-cigarettes. I have one week left to quit because we are moving and I promised I would quit by then....well by now actually but moving is stressful

Exactly, not the tobacco is what causes all of those weird cancers and what not (though you don't want to use it too much either... ), but the additives, which are intentionally put into the cigarettes to have the nicotine get into your blood faster and better, and to get you addicted to it easier, not to mention the glue to hold the tobacco together, and a billion other chemicals - and on the top of that packaged smokes taste and feel horrible compared to real tobacco!!! ^^ (Do some research about the additives in smokes, it will totally blow your mind!)

Did you folks know btw that mullein IS GOOD FOR YOUR LUNGS - indeed, inhaling its smoke makes yer lungs HEALTHIER!!! ^^
And I could never find any info on the effects of oregano, an old buddy showed it to me once, it is WONDERFUL, no weird effects like with drugs, you just feel calm, nothing strong or awkward, other people feel more cheerful, giggly, and it causes headaches for some... I wish I knew its effects on yer system anyway... ^^

It is close to impossible to inhale oregano by itself, as it has a KILLING effect in your throat, making you cough as hell, so I wouldn't try it if I were you! I always mix it with tobacco, half-half, and smoke it in a pipe - though you can also roll it into a paper, or fill a tube with it!
My Master told me once (before W/we lived together, talking online) that, as I didn't have anything handy to put the mixture into (my gorgeous snaked pipe was at that buddy who showed it to me, lent it to him for a few weeks), even tried a pen but I had to keep on lighting it, that you put the stuff into a bottle, light it up and inhale the smoke - well, I found a glass bottle I painted up wonderfully once, but it was impossible to light it, the neck was too tight, the bottle too long and deep, even tried an incense stick but no luck, so after a while I just gave up on struggling and put up with the absence of my precious smokeables for that day... ^^

I smoke occasionally, and when I do it's normally cloves. Otherwise I'm all about my leafy green goodness

I have just looked up whatever I could find in the last half hour: oregano, catnip and orange peels have the similar effect: calmness, maybe sleepiness, possibly headache, coughing. Also, whatever you smoke (as smoke is a solid material, being smoke crystals in the air), it damages your lungs, deprives oxygen from your brain, and just plain no good for your system... Except mullein of course - oh my, it tastes WONDERFUL, smells WONDERFUL too, oh and I forgot cloves as a common thing to smoke! ^^

no.
05/25/2012
Nope, I think it's gross. But my husband smokes.
05/25/2012
I don't smoke tobacco in any form, no.
05/25/2012
I loathe cigarettes. Yuck, I can't stand the smell.

I'm a woman and well, I smoke it all! Haha. I'm so kidding. I do smoke though and have been cutting down recently. I understand how tough it is! Stress is my biggest problem. If I'm stressed or anxious, I smoke. One thing that is so strange to me is every time I think I've quit, once my period comes around I smoke like mad! I have no clue what it is about my period that makes me smoke--like twice my normal amount! Not just when I've quit, but anytime my period gets here it's like I smoke it away. Lol. Am I the only one? My twin says she's the same way.

I tried checking into that commerical thing that you call or go online and they'll help you quit, but I never finished signing up--I was kind of nervous about doing so. Apparently you get some kind of counselor who cheers you on and listens to you I guess. Sounded a lot like an alcholics sponsor.
I have tried the Ecigs and wasted a load of money on them! They did not even cut it for me. I had high hopes for them too. I tried 3 different brands and finally gave those up. They were way more expensive than my Camels!

Smoker here, tried multiple times to quit, guess I'm just not ready

Never smoked and never well. My dad died of lung cancer 20 years after he quite smoking.
05/25/2012
I'm not a smoker...I did try it once but I really didn't like it. I grew up around smokers so for some odd reason I actually like the smell of cigarettes in their pack, haha.
