Deoderant/Anti-Persper ant Use

Contributor: PussyGalore PussyGalore
I prefer to use an anti-persperant designed for men, recently I had to switch because it seemed to stop working. I picked up a brand designed for women and while it works, I find I am overpowered by the "feminine" scent. It's supposed to be unscented and still smells like baby powder.

My question to you is, which do you prefer?

I use a deodorant stone. It's fragrance and paraben free, plus hypoallergenic. I prefer this over any deodorant/anti-perspir a nt.

I switch on a off between men's and women's (Arm and Hammer and Dove) but they are both unscented. Until I can find a deodorant that smells like fresh lemons I'd rather not smell like anything at all.

I have to use natural deodorants because I developed an allergy to the other kinds. Typically, I use the crystal sticks.

I use the crystal deodorant in the summertime or when I'm wearing something without sleeves (so that if I do sweat, it's not visible). The rest of the time I use sensitive skin Secret clinical.

I'm not picky-most women's deodorants smell better than B.O. so as long as it's not overwhelmingly strong I'll wear whatever.

I use Secret Super Power Whatever deodorant; it smells like rain, ish.

I won't use them if they smell like baby powder, so I have to stay away from anything that smells 'shower fresh'. Maybe it's just me and my broken shower, but I don't smell like baby powder when I hop out to towel off.

I've never tried men's anti-persperant. I have tried the natural stuff (the crystal sticks) and they don't seem to be effective for me. so I just stick to women's anti-persperant but I am not very brand loyal

This is my thought as well, I usually use Old Spice.

I like women's deodorant/anti-persper ant. I'm a big fan of Dove. The original/unscented kinds usually don't have an overwhelming feminine scent.

I used to prefer male brands since I was convinced they were stronger. I used to have a bit of hyperhydrosis when I was going through puberty. Nothing more mortifying than seeing pit stains or giant dark circles under the arms...

I've never needed deodorant. I used to have a need for anti-persperant.

I lost a lot of weight and now I really don't even need it anymore. I wear women's now and prefer Dove because it softens the skin there. I wear it more for than that any other use.

I use female anti-persperants, but usually pick those without any scent at all so that it won't conflict with my perfume.

When I am here in China, I find I do not need deodorant or antiperspirant. Pretty much everything I consume is natural. When in Canada, I find I need it, so use Dove or a brand named Uncle Tom's.

I also use a deodorant stone. I have researched a lot of different natural products and found that your body is suppose to sweat so anti-persperants are not really good for you. The stone is made out of a salt that you rub under your arm right out of the shower when the skin is still wet. The salts will take care of the bacteria that makes you smell but doesn't stop you from sweating. You also don't have to worry about deodorant lines and it lasts forever.

My wife just started using the crystal stick about four months ago, mostly due to a thread found here. She loves them! My daughter uses them now as well.

I typically buy three or four sticks at a time. I am on my last one and then I will switch to them, will see how it goes. I can get down right stinky if I want to.

I prefer Secret's 'smooth effects' - it works and it is lightly scented. The "botanical" is nice.

I use secret, I try to go for the flowery scents, as to avoid the strong baby powder smell. I don't know what person thought it was a good idea to smell like baby powder. I feel that if I am going to smell, I might as well smell like a flower, right? and that way I don't have to worry about perfume.

I use mitchum's which is a roll on. I like it since it has no scent because I am allergic to most scents they put into deoderants

The crystals keep things down to a low roar rather than wiping out odor completely. If you're working hard and sweating a lot, you will stink. Of course, I suppose that goes for every deodorant.

The crystals last forever, though. I think I go through 3 in two years.

I switched to an Aloe Vera deodorant after I developed a sensitivity to the stuff I was using, I tried the crystal once and it irritated my skin too

Never thought to try a mens. I bounce between women's brands. I like to alternate....otherwise they don't work very well for me.

I use Secret or whatever baby powder and leaves no residue. I've never heard of crystals until now.

I only use the crystals in their various forms. Sometimes I'll go nuts and get a scented one from Kiss My Face, but generally I stick with the giant clear rock that sits in its cute little dish.

The key is getting it really, really wet before you rub it on your armpits. If it sounds like too much trouble, the roll-on/spray/stick all work well. I just like the pretty crystal, the sensual ritual, and the fact that a $6 deodorant lasts me a year or more. More cash for fun!

I have adrenal insufficiency, so currently my kidneys hate me and I'm not really supposed to use antiperspirant.

I usually just get Lady Speed Stick or Secret. I'm not real picky.. The only thing is I refuse to wear anything smelling like baby powder. I haven't heard of the crystals until now either!

I prefer deodorant designed for women. I read somewhere that men's colognes will smell feminine on women because of their body's chemistry but they still smell masculine on me.

Well I am a male... and I always use male scented deoderant (Irish Springs)...

But I do like the way the feminine baby powder ones smell...

I use Degree for women, shower fresh? I think thats it. The smell isn't too feminine like. I don't like the over powering baby powder/floral/other odd things females want their pits to smell like. lol. My body spray takes care of that!
