Dildos and Airplanes?

Contributor: HannahPanda HannahPanda
I'm traveling soon and don't plan on bringing a suitcase on my trip, so I'm wondering if a dildo/vibrator being in my carry on is going to be an issue. While it may be embarassing, why pay 25 extra dollars per trip there and back when I could just carry everything in my carry on bag?

Has anyone had a similar run in?

I doubt it would be a problem. If it's a vibrator, you may have to take it out, clearly explain what it is, and show them how it works. So I wouldn't pack it at the bottom in case someone wants to make an issue of it.

Ridiculous, I know - but it's happened.

I doubt a regular ol' dildo would be a problem at all. Nobody cared about mine... I actually accidentally had a pepper spray in my bag, too, and no one noticed. >.>

I think as long as you take the batteries out of the vibrator, you'll be ok. I carried toys with me on our last trip and went through the two largest, and busiest airports and didn't have any problems.

TSA announced (last year or so) that it's okay to take sex toys in carry-on. Probably have to remove the batteries, but it was specifically addressed by the TSA.

It depends. If you are in international trip then you will have a problem for sure. But for domestic it will be a self imparessing -I think.

Sometimes. Some countries are incredibly lax about sex toys, but there are countries that having a sex toy could land you in jail.

I know in the US and most, if not all of Europe, it's legal to have a sex toy as long as it's fewer than 12 inches.

That's a relief! I'm going on a trip tomorrow and I really want to bring a toy with me. I'm not checking any luggage so I was somewhat worried how it'd go over in a carry-on. I'm taking my favorite recharagable toy though, so I won't be able to take its battery out...

You might want to take the batteries out first (or put a block over the on button) so that it doesn't accidentally go off. Other than that I can't think of anything.

Nope.

I am always worried about carrying sex toys through customs. I travel to North America to China and back pretty frequently over the past couple of years and I've had toys in my carry on, my checked luggage...

My advice is simple;
Less attention is given to you if the toy is not flesh like.
Remove the batteries.
Lock the toy.
Have it in a storage pouch near the top so when it passes through the x-ray and if they have to open your bag, they can see it without rummaging and making things wrinkley.
If you are flying to China? They see it, are curious, turn red as a tomato when they see it, sometimes ask where you can buy them, then they zip up your bag and off you go.

Be honest when you pass through customs and security.

It should have the ability to lock. Lock it. And practice locking and unlocking.

Don't forget to bring the recharger!!!!

I have yet to take a dil or vibe through but I have taken strokers and such through. I think it will only be the vibe that catches their eye so just take out the batteries and leave it towards the top of the carry-on.

I think it would be fun to take Hoss through, maybe in a briefcase with a molded insert to hold him and a bottle of Maximus. Yes, a bright white case with a bright red silk lining with Gold trim here and there. Then just smile when the case goes through the x-ray.
