I have always loved fish & sushi, but I use to be pretty indifferent to most other seafood. I didn't not like it, but I would say I liked it either. A few years ago I realized that my tastes much have changed over the years, because now I really love all the seafood that I used to not like.

I like sushi. Other seafood, makes me queasy. I had a bad experience as a kid, so anything that smells "fishy" or tastes too strong, I will avoid or I'll end up throwing it up.

I absolutely love seafood. Last night I had panko crusted snapper and shrimp for fish tacos.

I love ALL seafood.

I'm allergic to every type of seafood I've tried, but I like shrimp & can have a little if I have the injectable Benadryl ready.

I would think that being allergic to seafood would allow a person the freedom to appreciate even more what they can eat. Exploring the vast array foods and culinary techniques puts you on a path of exploration and adventure. Those people like myself who have no allergies, are going to be jaded to some extent.

If your fish actually has a noticeable "fishy" smell, it's too old and has gone bad. You're right not to eat that.
