People are usually surprised when I tell them I am 42--they think I am around 32-36. I am not complaining now--but when I was younger, it really bothered me!!!

I look a lot younger than I am! I'm 25 and when people see me in a store or something on a school day I still sometimes get asked why I'm not in school.

And I know that as much as he hates to admit it, it does make my bf a bit embarrassed to be seen with someone who looks so young, especially since he's already a few years older than me as it is. Anyone else have any problems with not looking their age? Do people mistake you for being a different age even if you don't think you look older/younger than you are?

58% of the people here just can't look younger than they are. If the majority of people "looked younger than they are", we would just have different reference points for what age looks what.

I was just reminded of when I worked in retail, and would have to ask customers: "Do you have any discounts with us? College student? Over 55?" and there was always at least one leather-tanned woman every week who took offense and would scream "YOU THINK I'M ELDERLY?!?! HOW DARE YOU ASK ME, YOU LITTLE SHIT!!"
After they left in a huff, I got nodded agreements from those around me when I'd comment, "Well, the answer's been called."

When I was in middle school, people thought I was in college. When I was in college, people thought that I was in high school. Now I'm told I look like I'm still in college, but that isn't that far off. =]

Amongst my age group, people tend to think I'm older. For people older than me, I fit my age though
