I do because it is hard to get cell reception in the house. I live near a dead zone for cell phones.

I just saw a new subdivision, where my daughter is looking to buy a home. They have not put in land lines at all. There IS a cell tower right there, and they say they can support high speed internet and TV, so the builder decided "no land line phone cables" and apparently building codes in that area do not require it. Never heard of this before, but there you have it!!!! I cannot believe it's the first or last. Businesses used to have pay phones too. Ever look for one today???

Yeah, it's pretty bad how hard it is to find a payphone in an emergency now. And then once you find one, it often doesn't work.

We don't have landline service either--just a cell each. Damn, we all pay a lot for the ability to be bothered anywhere and any time, don't we?

I live at home (for now!) and my parents have one. I mostly use my cell or email.
