I have been surfing around the site and noticed that lots of people will post on new products that they are anxiously waiting for a review to help them make up their minds to buy something! Personally, I think this is very cool and one of the main benefits of the review program.
So tell me do YOU wait for reviews or just jump on in to be the person reviewing the product? Does it depend on the product type?

I realize that my answers conflict a little, but alas it is contextual for me. I haven't really been interested in any products that don't have at least 3 reviews it seems. :/

It depends on the price but if I like it enough and it isn't too expensive I am willing to risk it by buying it before there are any reviews.

The pricier something is, the more hesitant I am to buy it without some good reviews. I know there are plenty of people who can tell a product is right for them based on the pics or the description. I'd rather have some input first or would like to see it in person in a storefront somewhere.

I always read reviews before I buy something. I don't make a ton of purchases, and when I do I tend to buy fairly well-tested items, so it works well for me. There are almost always reviews already on the things I want.

It depends on the item. If it's something I can already tell I'm probably going to like - I'll jump right in. But if it's something new, or different, or innovative - a couple reviews by well seasoned reviewers are always my best bet before getting it myself.

I agree - I think it's awesome the confidence we can have in the many, MANY great reviewers who write here!

I always wait for reviews on the items I'm interested in before buying - on this site, at least. If I'm just buying some toilet paper or something else of little consequence, I won't bother, but if it's over $10 and/or meant to last me over 2 years, I definitely want to make sure it's the right thing for the job.

It depends. Sometimes I wait and other times, I just get it in case it goes out of stock.

For the most part I know what works for me so if it looks good I'll jump. The only time I am hesitant nowadays is when it comes to vibes, I prefer a rumbly/thumpy vibe so in that case I may wait for a review or two.

Yes. I wait for reviews on lingerie that I am unsure about and some toys. Usually with most toys, I just jump the gun and buy if it's something I really want. Normally though, I wait for reviews to see how the vibrations are and all. With lingerie, I almost always wait for a review, but some things are so gorgeous that I can't wait so I decide to be the guinea pig. I do tend to wait for reviews, even several before buying though. I LIKE to know the color, fit, size, etc. I want to be sure it's true to the size chart and if not, I like to know that before ordering so I can size up. Reviews are like tape--cannot live without them!

I know me.

I saw I think it was Pipedreams Icicles No28 (the new pink one?) and I went MINE!!!!

Carted it.

Then went back and saw that it was not as thick as I usually like.. but went meh. What the hell!!! My bum will eat it right up!

I know the shapes of what I like, I know my favourite thicknesses... I know what I like when it comes to shape. But... vibrators... if I have a surplus of points, I'll get it if it is a shape I know I'll like. But... I have learnt that some people just don't know the differences between thumpy/deep and buzzy vibes.

I look at it like this.

The toy is my French vannila ice cream. And the reviews are just the toppings.

Depends on the price. If it is pretty expensive, I want to see reviews. If there are no reviews here, I utilize google. If I still can't find anything... I guess it depends on how bad I want it.
