Do you take care of the car you drive? Or does you partner? I take care of both cars. Just got done cleaning hers up, it now has a fresh coat of wax and looks like it did on the showroom floor. She has never tried to help me keep the cars clean and in working order. Is it like this for others on here?
do you wash and wax your own car?

I don't have my own car yet. I think when I have my own, I'd wanna wash it myself rather than sending it through a machine or anything. Those car washes kinda freak me out.
Edit: I might be less willing in winter, purely because I hate cold. Then I might consider a carwash. I don't think I'd make my s/o do it for me, though; I wanna save that credit for weeding and other yardwork.

I take care of my own car, cleaning and upkeep. I don't need a man to do it for me. ;]

i wash it myself sometimes. other times i just drive it through a car wash.

I used to wash and wax my car. Also loved detailing the inside. Unfortunately I had to give it up when I moved. Friends tell me they still see it around town, so it's good to know that it's still going

I admit to sucking at washing my own car. I do do it, but my husband does it more. I always end up washing and waxing my motorcycle myself tho.

I don't even like putting gas in my car. My Man sometimes takes our cars and truck to a "do it yourself" car washing place, but I rarely bother. Honestly, I have enough to do, and car washing and grass cutting is just not in my sphere of activities. I painted an outside door on our house last weekend, but it was under much duress.

I did this stuff with my first car, but seeing as I have never had a NEW car in my life and I usually drive pieces of shit, I see no reason to bother. If I had a nice car, it might be worth the effort, but as it is, the effort would be wasted. Talk about "polishing the turd" that's what waxing the piece of crap I drive would be.
In Chicago, the roads are so filthy that the car looks like shit 2 hours after a wash anyway....
But, I think its nice that you do this for both you and your wife.

We usually just run ours through the car wash when we fill it up. About every 3 months though I will detail the interiors. Since all 3 of our cars have more than 100,000 miles on them (we drive them until the wheels fall off), they don't exactly look show room any more but they are clean.

car wash!
07/07/2011
Nope. I always take the car to the car wash and get the best wash they offer. I think I would if we had a nicer and newer car. Then again, it might be too much of a pain in the ass. lol

Used to wash/wax my own cars, now it is just easier to go run through the car wash. Even though some times the wait in line it would have been faster to do it myself.

I live in an apartment, so I have to take my car to the car wash. I do like to wash/wax it myself, though. Car washes never get all of the bug guts off the front bumper or the windshield.

No my daughter or car wash does it

I take our car to the car wash occasionally.

I used to wash my own car at those coin-operated car washes with the scrubby brushes and what not..but that was back when I had classic old cars. Now with my newer Yukon, it's too tall, so eff it, I go to an automatic car wash haha

We used to wash and wax our cars by ourselves when they were new. Now, we take them to the car wash, suppose to be greener that way.

I wash and vacuum my own car. I do not wax it though.

if i have money for a car, then i have money to pay for someone to take care of it for me. i don't do that kind of work

I do but since I have been so busy with work I have been neglecting my cars like crazy. I have found that car washes actually end up scratching the shit out of your cars (up here atleast) because people up here go offroading and get all sorts of minerals and dirt on the material that washes the car. Turns the shammys into sandpaper.

I wash my own car. I sometimes wax, but it's very, very rare.

I wash the car inside and out. As well as checking/topping up with oil, blake fluid, windscreen wipper cleaner, power steering fluid and make sure all 5 tyres have the correct air in them.
When there is no man around, ya have to learn to do everything yaself or pay the earth for someone else to take care of it.
