Does anyone actually sleep with SILK SHEETS.

Shiny Silk sheets are reputed to be "sexy and luxurious". I just bought REAL silk sheets.

They ARE sexy, luxurious...but also VERY "HOT" to sleep on (mylar camp blanket hot), and SLIPPPPPPPPPPERY. (Both on the bed edges, where they POP all night and on the people, who SLIP and SLIDE off).

Anyone else find these issues with SHINY SILK sheets...or are they just fun to "play" on, then take them off and put the cotton back on the bed????

I have used silk sheets; I didn't find them hot or uncomfortable. My biggest problem was that I'd awaken in the night and my pillows would be on the floor because it's slippery.

To keep them on the bed itself, consider utilizing sheet suspenders.

no they annoy me because they always seem to slide right off the bed.

I bought satin sheets shortly after we got our water bed a LONG time ago. My Man would lie down on the bed, and I'd slide over a mountain of waves and satin, he's grab his pillow and it would SHOOT out of his arms, we'd have sex and we almost slipped right off the bed, then the damn sheets started popping off the corners and sides of the bed, even when I had garters on them (it's a thing to keep sheets on the waterbed.) And they felt sticky all the time.

They were not used more than once or twice and we also found they held on to stains like crazy. So, no. I don't like them.

I have satin sheets. I personally love them but I think they're an acquired taste, or at least something you have to learn how to properly move around on so as not to get hurt! If I hadn't grown up in a house where the adults had them and gotten used to them then, I probably wouldn't have the patience for sliding aroun them now.

No silk for me either...but I do have Satin pillow cases which I LOVE! My mother actually has a full set of Satin sheets for her bed that she uses in the winter as an alternative to flannel of fleece. She says they are just as warm but much softer and collect less "fur", but then again, her cats aren't aloud in her room! Our cats sleep with us so I would be worried about nail catches on satin/silk sheets. We recently got a new woven blanket for our bed, our "summer blanket", and within a few days, the cats had snagged it in so many places it looks as if we've had it for years rather than a few months!

I've had satin sheets, but I didn't like how slippery they were. I loved rolling around in them, but it doesn't work unless I'm the only one in the bed and can tuck the blankets and sheets in all the way around the other side of the bed.

Oh good lord silk sheets are HOT. Good for a winter in Maine, but shouldn't even be in the house if you live in Atlanta. I think they make me hot even if they're just folded up and sitting in the closet...

Satin is fun, not quite as hot, but I feel every particle of dust on them like it's sand. I'm really picky about my bed, though.

Lol, this is a great thread!

We got some "silk" like sheets made from polyester. I thought they were cool until we tried them. They are slippery as hell! I don't mind too much but my guy hates them, the pillows move, your body moves the spreads fall off the bed.

It does get annoying, but it feels nice on the skin, especially if you've just showered and shaved!

I think silky sheets is trying to hard and un origional. I think they should only be used for taking sexy pics.

I sleep with silk sheets, but I buy them very thin. Some are woven thick which make them hella hot to sleep in. Especially since I live in Texas and it was 112 all weekend! The only thing I hate is that basically... they are really easy to snag. So they don't last long unless you get them thick or coated. I found some gold ones that were coated with some sort of stuff that keeps them from snagging so easily. I forget the brand though. Found them at JCP.

I've wanted silk sheets for a while but they just never seem like the practical option for multiple reasons. So I think it's probably something that will never happen.

Silk sheets are a lot of fun! but yes, they take a bit of getting used to... they are slippery, and can be hot, but the sensation of silk against bare skin is much nicer than any cotton blend.

I wish! But all this talk about it getting too hot doesn't sound like fun!

Slippery, too cold when it's cold and hot when it's hot. XD I prefer something more cottony. It's very pretty to look at but not too good for sleeping on. (Or even sexing on in my opinion.)

I absolutely love then and have owned a couple of pairs. I don't tend to slide around or get too hot/cold at all.
You could try using velvet or suede-ish type pillow cases, by the way, to add friction so the pillows aren't falling off.

Yup and I didn't mind it but I definitely wouldn't get silk pillow cases again. they were too slippery.
