Dog lovers. What kind of dog do you have and how often do they get a bath??? (Or get groomed)

Our three Rotties get a bath about twice a month (actually, they join us in the shower, and get scrubbed)!!!! We know some dog people who almost never bath their dogs ("it's bad for their skin and coat"...they say), and others who bathe their dogs every single week (and their dogs seem to have lovely coats and skin....but that's another story).

SO...what kind of dogs do YOU have and how often do they get a bath (or shower)??? I wonder if SMALL dogs get washed more, since they are so easy to grab and dunk???

I have a Pomeranian and a Shih Tzu/JRT mix.
The mutt gets bathed more often, he's white and gets dingy and dirty a lot easier. Maybe every other month? He gets matted so easily, though, poor guy. He HATES being brushed, and when he gets wet he goes crazy and rolls around ollecting MORE dirt and matting up his hair. We have to cut big mats out so his haircut's a little uneven...
The Pom has an easy coat that never gets matted, and he doesn't really do anything to get dirty ever. We've had him since the end of May and we've bathed him twice.

Haha I bathe my dogs in the shower with me too! Everyone always told me it was wierd, I'm glad I'm not the only one that does it.

I have a Westie, and had a Pekingese up until a couple of months ago when she had to be put down. I would wash both of them once a month, but I would wipe their faces with a washcloth about once a week since they seemed to get crusty stuff around their eyes sometimes. I always had to give them their baths together because the Pekingese would panic in the water if the westie wasn't there.

I have a Beagle 5yrs old. She has had 2 baths in her life! One when we first got her as a puppy and I think the 2nd time she got a bit muddy in slush/mud/rain. She keeps herself meticulously clean and smells good believe it or not, plus she doesn't care for the water. She fusses even if you just want to rinse her paws.

I also have a shih tzu. He gets bathed about 6x a year. Always before grooming and if he gets sweaty/smelly in the summer. We also have a dalmation/pointer and she gets it about the same.

We have a 5 year old Wolf-German Shepherd mixed female named Perry. She is my little shadow and I love her to death!

She is mostly an indoor dog so she doesn't really get dirty. We get her groomed about every 3 months.

Our Pomeranian / Jack Russell / Chihuahua / Pekinese mix gets a bath maybe once every two weeks, depending on how often he gets wet between baths.
He tends to get "wet dog" smell that builds up every time he goes out in the rain so sometimes we need to up it to a bath a week. xD

He even has his own little shallow bucket for a 'tub'.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and she gets a bath whenever she needs it (sometimes often, sometimes not, depending on how lazy she's been), and a groom about every 6.

I have a very handsome son! He's 1/2 pit bull, 1/4 samoyed, and 1/4 blue heeler. He sleeps in bed with me, so he gets bathed once a week and his hair is beautiful. It annoys me when people try to tell me animals shouldn't be bathed. Their cats have nasty dandruff and hairballs and they shed all the time and mine don't have those problems, so they can't talk to me! D: I do think it depends on the animal, though. Not every dog and cat is the same.

I have a poodle and a lhasa apso, both are long haired dogs that require haircuts, and sometimes it gets to the point where they look like giant mops haha. But they're clean and don't shed so that makes up for it.
