Depends on the situation. If they had kids I understand. If not, it could be pretty awkward. However, that could mean that the break up wasn't bad (no one really screwed up), since the family is amicable toward the ex.

Been there, it did not bother me too much. I let it all just roll off my back. I did have issues with all this when hubbys child was under 18--it almost broke us up many times, but learned to let it go....He is mine because he wanted to be, she was just a hanger on....
