There are also some that have a ring around the toe, but those are considered "hippy shoes" by a lot of people.
What the heck are "stubby shorts" and "singlets?" Singlets, in the USA used to be a sleeveless T Shirt worn by babies! But, they are just called "sleeveless T Shirts" now. I LOVE hearing different dialects of English. It's so interesting. less

I haven't seen too many over here with the ring around the toe. I actually like the sandal version that rings the big toe.
Stubby is a brand and they make short shorts for guys. Not the type of shorts I like to see on most men. Some have the right legs to pull them off, but then ya also get the guys wearing them who just look nasty.
Yeap - that's what singlets are over here too. They are ribbed and stretchy. Ya can get them in all sizes - babies to adults.
Often truckies will wear the dark blue ones.
