Be aware that the toxins released from an equal amount of tobacco smoke are far, far higher then that in a cigarette or cigar and in countries where they use Hookah's, the incidence of oral and throat cancer are far higher in hookah users then in even heavy cigarette smokers.
Just trying to let you know that it pays to be informed of the risk before you choose to "enjoy" that device.

The data shows the second hand smoke and indeed the "first hand" smoke are at least as dangerous as cigarettes. However, newer data in Europe and India show Hookah smoke to be far more dangerous. You usually are putting out some good medical advice here, Travelnurse. This might be one worth looking up. I have to take a certain level of soap box time here, since I worry about peoples health and I personally see the after effects of choosing to smoke. I see it daily and it "ain't pretty".

I love hookah. i havent done it since my fiance' and i got together just because he doesnt smoke and it isn't an activity that me and him can enjoy together. i loved the apple and pina colada flavors it was amazing..

I have been both to a hookah bar and have owned a hookah. It's a fun experience. Trying different flavors is rewarding and a good social distractor. Clean up and set up are kind of laborious, which is where the hookah bar comes in -- but be sure to check it out. A lot of the time, the bar is a money trap (and who can blame them). The ones around me are too much $$ and have poor atmosphere or service, or both.
