Help Me Find Bedding???

Contributor: Darling Jen Darling Jen
So many of you already know but, if you don't, I'm moving very soon! And I'm getting a brand new bed and looking for brand new bedding to go with it. (Weeee!) So I was inspired by my favorite colors (each will get a room in my house) and I've had my heart set on a purple (royal purple, not lavendar) bed. But damn it's hard to find bedding that's not for little kids or teens in a full size (also known as a double). And I'm not ashamed to say that I have a full size bed and actually much prefer it to taking up more floor space with a bed I won't even cover a quarter of. So not only do I want it to be purple, which is really hard enough, but I reeeaaally don't like the frilly "traditional" type of style. I'm more contemporary and modern, perhaps even with a hint of Asian inspiration.

Anywho! So the conclusion of this story is that I find myself looking online for my bedding, which I need to pick out really soon. But considering how expensive bedding can get and how hard it would be to return it if I don't like it (and then wait for my money back), I wanted to know if anyone suggests a site they had a great experience with? Or maybe some words of caution for a site they had a less than pleasant experience with?

It sucks I won't be able to touch the fabrics or examine the quality or judge the color before I buy it but this is the best way for me to get anything near what my heart is set on.

Right now I'm deciding between a bedding set I found at Macy's (which I'm pretty sure is trustworthy) and an absolutely gorgeous one I found at beddingsuperstore.com. Anyone familiar with it???

Thank you, lovelies!!!

With bedding you usually don't have to worry about it not fitting if you buy it online, unlike clothing and shoes. I wouldn't worry about buying one online if you like it more.. I've bought a lot of the things in my house from the internet because I can't stand shopping sometimes, and I've yet to be disappointed!

I've never used them, personally, but beddingsuperstore.com has mixed reviews online, so tread lightly.

Yeah, I've been trying to find their information on the BBB (which has an icon on the homepage but doesn't actually take you there). What I do like about it so far is that I requested, free of charge and personal information, a fabric sample of the bedding! *fingers crossed*

Pricing wise (and good cred too) I would recommend overstock.com. They've got tons of options and great prices.

Amazon.com, Target.com, Overstock.com. I've bought bedding from all of them.

I'm a big fan of Jersey Sheets (or t-shirt fabric sheets). The only problem I've run into is that they can shrink...just like t-shirts.

These sheets do come in great solid colors.

Target has a nice home collection. Even Walmart has some higher-end sheet sets. The great thing about their websites is that if you don't like it, you can just return it to the store.

I second target. I always look at their bedding and none of it seems to be uncomfortable in fabric choices. Also they have a lot of pretty stuff. They sell jersey cotton sheet sets for 15 to 20 dollars. And comforters and what not for a bit more but still moderately priced.

Silly as it sounds, I often find some really good assortments at JC Penney.Com and their prices are not bad...sales all the time, good return policy too.

I'm definitely checking out all of those sites. I've found some decent contenders too and I really need to hurry up and decide soon!

And I actually had jersey sheets in college and absolutely hated them. They were too warm, stretched and warped over time, and created a sticky/ statically feeling with a lot of my PJs. *shudder* Nope, no jersey again.

I already picked out my sheets and now I just need the comforter and pillows. The sheets I got were super quality ones on sale at JCPenney for 50% off! 400 thread count, stretch-resist, wrinkle-resist, satiny-feeling wonderful ones! I'm so excited!

Ok so I totally just found a totally adorable bedding set on Walmart's site for $20! It's not quite the grown-up, sexy bedding I was looking for but at least now I can make my bed while I wait for my next paycheck to come in and save up for something more luxurious.

And how awesome is this community that I can get help finding bedding?!
