High Heels....halp me pretty please...

Contributor: Ansley Ansley
I am going on vacation next month. Yay!!! There will be fancy dinner parties and I found two absolutely amazing dresses that I cannot wait to wear. I also found *the perfect pair of shoes* to wear with both.

It's been a really long time since I have worn heels on a consistent basis. I am wearing them daily around the house to reaquaint myself with the nuances of walking and such.

For the most part everything is going significantly well. I haven't busted my ass or twisted my ankles. Yet, my feet sweat and then my feet slip. I thought about getting gel insoles and found a really nice set online but the problem with a gel insole is that I can't take them on the plane. (We're not checking bags, it's all carry-on.)

I would hate to fall or have my heel come flying off in front of total strangers that I am trying to make an impression on, sure it's not the worst thing that could happen but I embarrass easily. Then I fixate on how I could have done better...etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to either make my feet stop sweating or advice on something I can put in the shoe to make it anti-slip?

It seems these would show just a little bit. I'll be wearing hosiery anyway. (I'm covering tattoos.) Or I guess I can slip those on first and then the hose.

My mother powders her feet before putting her hose on, that's how she did it. You could also find rubber insoles instead of gel ones. I think some insole companies also make 'non-slip' pads for the ball of feet to put in heels.

Moleskin...You can cut it down and stick it in like an insert and it will stick directly to the inside of the shoe. its cheaper than buying expensive inserts too. You probably can get it at walgreens or CVS

I don't know about TSA regulations, but would it be ok to wear the inserts when you fly? You can call the airlines you are using and they should know what will pass.
