My hubby and I currently rent a house, but we are in the process of buying our own home. It took us 2 months to find a home that we really liked. We had a long list of "musts", so it was a challenge trying to find something that met all our requirements. And the housing market in our area is super-competitive right now as well. Seriously, it's insane. Houses here are sometimes gone within HOURS of being put on the market.
We're supposed to close in mid June, so excited!

We rent and will continue to for a little while. Normally renting is more expensive than owning, but we rent from family members and managed to get a 2 bedroom 2 bath with large laundry room for $600 a month. Moving will just cause us to have to spend more.

I am both right now. Own a home I'm trying to sell (pending buyer) and renting from my GF. I'll be very happy if the sale goes through.
