Only once on a technicality with the amount of sales I was (or wasn't) making. I quit another job because I got demoted for a b.s. reason.

The one time I was fired because of troublemakers who didn't like when when I told them to do their job. I was in my first 3 months at that job and she fired me. I did explain to her that the staff was lazy and didn't do their jobs and that is why they complained about me and told her that I was sleeping on night shift. That was many years ago.

Add another vote to "Never".
Never been fired, in fact at one job I had turned in my notice (due to an extremely awful manager, whose false paperwork I uncovered - it was a headache and I decided to just leave) the board begged me to stay and said they were going to fire the manager next week anyway. I stayed on until I was ready to move on to the next thing. And the job was MUCH better after we had a new manager, even though she was really inexperienced - at least she was honest and sane!

I've only had one 'real' job and I put in my two weeks notice when I could no longer work due to my pregnancy. I don't work for myself, I take care of my family. I pretty much work for my husband and kids! :p

Two of my colleagues were made redundant today on my shift. I still have my job even though I was sure I'd get fired too. Worst workday in a long time.

i was "let go" while on medical leave. prob illegal on their part but was too sick to deal with it.
