Why do you not think he should be fired? Physically assaulting a customer, even if they're being a dick, is something that would be grounds for dismissal with almost every other job.

If someone spit in your face you should have the right to kick their @%* regardless of who they are... To spit in someones face is the worst thing can do to assault someone

I can think of lots worse things to do to assault someone than just spitting on them. Spitting on them seems pretty tame compared to other ways of assaulting them.

Spitting in someone's face doesn't actually hurt them... it just bruises their ego/pride. I think punching someone in the face after they spit on you is a bit of an overreaction. I didn't see in the posted article that she spit in his face, I read the cause of the skirmish was undetermined.

Having someone spit in your face is the worst type of assault you can think of? Really? So, worse than sexual assault or a bad beating?

Either your priorities are messed up, or you have lived a very sheltered life. Being spit on is an ugly and humiliating feeling, but like indiglo said, it's not actually going to hurt or harm you in the long run. Whereas other forms of assault do.
