If you saw a fight break out, would you try to stop it or keep filming it!?

Contributor: Rod Ronald Rod Ronald
There is a damn good reason why I don't normaly watch the news, because it pisses me off. We all by now know about the man who was pushed infront of a subway train this week. We all probably seen the video clip shot by a witness to this event. My question is this. If you saw something like this unfold, would you try to help break it up, or would you keep shooting and stay out of it. Would fear become a factor, or would it purely become a matter of saving another human beings life?
By the way, when the man was pushed, he was still trying to climb back up onto the platform before the train hit him. I'm disgusted beyond words here. Sorry.

I would for sure put the camera down and run to the man's rescue!

I would not try to get involved. I would try to capture what I could on camera to help the police catch the guy who did it.

Fear would be a huge factor for me. I would be to affraid that the same would happen to me if I tried to help

I would play hero just for the simple fact that a man's life is at risk. I would hope someone would do the same for me!

I'm ridiculously small, so no I would not get involved with a fight like that and if I had my camera I would definitely keep filming it.

Being a female, I'd be afraid to get too involved, but I would try to call for help.

I'm trained in self defense and I would probably try to help the man. Sometimes if one person starts to speak up many others do as well.

If my camera was going, I would probably keep filming it, though it would depend on the situation. I'm female, but by no means am I small so I think it would depend on the size of the person. If nothing else I would call the police and keep filming.

I'm tiny so if I tried to help, I would only get myself hurt.

Aww man I saw that. I was so pissed at the person recording it. I would help but in a fight, sometimes breaking it up can get you in trouble.

I haven't heard about this, but I don't watch or read news because I'm paranoid.

Anyhow, if a fight broke out anywhere around me, my ass would run. I'm tiny and weak. If it's fight or flight, I'm all flight. As soon as I was somewhere I thought was safe, I'd call the cops.

I'm confused as to why people would video a fight? O.o

If I had been there and had anyway to catch the man who shoved the other man... I would have beat his ass until the cops pulled me off, and then sat in my cell smiling until I saw the judge and explained myself.

If I was pretty sure I could break up the fight, I would. Otherwise, I'd tape it and get some evidence.

I'm not very strong and won't do much good in that kind of situation, but I will capture it on camera and scream for help.

My first instinct is not to video tape a fight. If someones life was on the line I'd definitely try and help them.

i would video tape. I highly doubt i could save anyone. especially if its two men fighting, one strong enough to throw another in front of a train.

I would absolutely do the right thing. It's just who I am. Sometimes you have to do the right thing even if you're the only one.

I'm definitely the type to step in and break things up. I've been bullied, I've been in fights. Seeing people stand by or run away is infuriating.

I would likely leave the scene as soon as the fight began to unfold.

Frankly I say both parties are equally responsible. Yes, the outcome of the guy being hit by the train is awful - but he should not have been fighting in the first place. Every action has a consequence.

I wouldn't be filming first of all, but I would try to break it up or I would quickly try and get the police

Yes, I am a very short female, but I would still try to bring peace to end the fight or call the authorities. I cannot bring myself to watch one human harm another.

When it comes to MEN fighting, girls should never be involved. Men are very strong, especially when mad. If a guy was pushed down on the train tracks, I'd try helping him, especially if the guy who pushed him ran off. I wouldn't just stand there, holding a camera.
