Is there a TV in your bedroom?

We have a small one in the bedroom. It's great for when one of us is sick, and we do listen to it when we fall asleep at night.

i fully believe the bedroom is not a place for tv, or an office environment. But, that said, we have an imac in our bedroom, which thanks to netflix, acts as a tv too. boooo!

Yes, we have to have one. With my living situation, I'm in my room all the time and I also used to not be able to sleep with the TV off. But now the TV is off come bedtime, so it doesn't bother me much!

Yep, I have one. I reckon I always will. Mostly because my Daddy needs something familiar to fall asleep to so he always has a movie on to go to sleep.

Right now there is one in my room because it got shuffled around when my Mom bought a new tv a few years ago. Now we have one in almost every room. Whatev, it is what she likes. I watch it sometimes to get tired, but I turn it off when I actually want to sleep. I always put the 'sleep' on though if I do watch it late at night in case I accidentally fall asleep before I plan to, that way it won't wake me up at 2 am!

I love falling asleep to a movie. It's the best sleep aid in the world to me.

Usually, it's just so hubby can watch tv in bed and I usually fall asleep long before him. Haha. Also we have it in there so porn can be watched during sex. And when hubby is not home, I sleep with the tv on for a little light and some noise.

I do have a TV in the bedroom. Most of the time I use it to watch DVD's during masturbation and sometimes during sex, w/o the sound.
I also watch porn on my laptop that I sometimes place on the bed...more variety.

We only have two TVs in our home (not counting the small one, not hooked up to Cable (which you need in our area to get ANY reception)that our oldest at home child uses for DVDs) Our kids are not allowed TVs in THEIR rooms until they are 18. IMO, a child's room should be restful, and for reading, play and sleeping. I also want to SEE my kids and a TV hooked up to cable in the kids' rooms isn't the best for family togetherness, at least for my family.

One in the living room, and one in the bedroom. We have it for several reasons.
1)We often like to watch the news before bed, and My Man falls asleep while I rub his back during the news, and it's easier than trying to get him up. And try to get his sorry ass upstairs to the bed
2)I often like privacy when watching my own shows, when the kids may want to watch a movie or a show they prefer. If The Man and are are renting an R rated movie, our youngest is allowed to choose to either read upstairs or watch some Sponge Bob in our room. She's a respectful child, so it works out. Also, sometimes we'll move upstairs for the remainder of the movie, and it's nice to be able to do that.
3)I also like to catch the news and weather in the morning while getting dressed and putting on my make up.
4)My Man and I are NOT comfortable watching Porn in the living room. We have a house full of kids, and it's inappropriate, IMO, to watch porn in a "family" area of the house. JMO. I also can't relax when we watch anywhere else but our bedroom, with door shut and White Noise Machines on.
5)I grew up in a house with ONE black and white TV, and there was something good about having my own house and being able to put a TV in our bedroom, if we wanted.
6) I don't like to be downstairs alone at night, and even if The Man falls asleep before I do, I can be in the same room with him, either while catching the news, Mad Men, or just reading.

We don't leave it on while we are sleeping (he falls asleep easily, but I turn the thing off before I go to sleep.) I also rarely watch any TV during the day, unless I am catching the news and weather.

I always had one in my room growing up, it was just because not all of us wanted to watch the same thing at once all of the time. I used to fall asleep with it on all the time. I heard the same thing about the study, I have wondered if that was why my sleep wasn't the best growing up. I would usually set the TV timer so it would eventually turn off if I fell asleep. After the last anxiety attack that I had, I couldn't sleep without the TV being on again. It just helped me to keep my mind off things as I fell asleep. I haven't had a TV in the room since we have moved just because it hasn't been set up in the room yet. I really don't watch a whole lot of TV, but I want a TV in my room because I know not all of us in the house are going to want to watch the same thing all of the time.

Honestly, if my partner and I lived in our own place - I would not have a TV or a computer in the bedroom. It has been nice for me not having a TV or a computer on when I am trying to go to sleep. It really does help. Though I admit that I do like to turn something on at night and cuddle up with my partner to watch when we go to bed. It's relaxing.

Only time when I have the TV on is to catch up on the morning news/weather/traffic while I get ready for the day. And of course, for watching porn in privacy.

just never put one in my room although thought about it but if so I would only watch it if the hubby had to see something different than me at the same time

Yup, we have always had a tv in the bedroom. We don't have cable tv because we weren't watching enough for it to be worth paying for but It's nice for snuggling & watching a movie or just relaxing and watching a movie. It helps me sleep too. I don't NEED it to sleep, but when I am having trouble falling asleep it helps.

I really only watch TV at night in bed. We have another TV in the living room, but it's mostly used for playing video games. I rarely watch daytime TV.

We have a TV in our bedroom but honestly we don't really ever watch it at bed time. I am a crafty girl and I have a little table in the bedroom that I do my craft projects and I like to watch TV or turn on something for my daughter to watch while we are sewing or scrapbooking... but I hardly ever watch it at night and I never leave it on while I sleep.

I have a TV in my bedroom, but it isn't hooked up to our satellite. It's a tiny DVD player-TV-thing that I use to watch Family Guy or Arrested Development when my dad's in the living room watching his damn war docs.

When I'm at my boyfriend's house, there is a small TV in the bedroom. We're usually up very late (or early morning, however you wanna look at it) so we cuddle and watch [adult swim] before we zonk out. We each have shows that we CAN'T miss, so when I'm over at his place, he watches the tube in the den and I stay in bed and watch my Real Housewives

We have a tv in the bedroom, but it has no cable, and only a DVD player. The only reason it's in our room is because we bought a new bigger tv for the living room, and nobody wanted to buy our nice tv for dirt cheap on Craigslist. We didn't have the storage really to put it away, so we just moved it to our room.

I will say this though, when I go on vacation, I sleep with the TV on to drown out any other noises. I get super anxiety at night about people trying to break in or whatever. Everytime I hear a noise I'm up out of bed checking to make sure nobody is trying to get in our hotel room (I know it's crazy)

First, we don't own a tv (imagine, we spend time together doing something other then sitting around watching the soulless tv tube). But if we did, it wouldn't be in the bedroom and certainly not for sleeping to. I'm a bit sensitive to light, so I like sleeping in complete darkness (even as far to block out the glow of the alarm clock with clothing or a towel). My partner on the other hand was accustomed to (before being with me) sleeping with Christmas tree lights strung from her bed frame.

My room is set up like a small studio apartment (I'm having to live in my parents' den until the job and divorce things are straightened out), so I had no choice but to have a TV in the same room I sleep. It's rarely ever on, and definitely not while I'm sleeping. I can't stand any distractions while going to sleep because I'm too high strung.

Once I get my own place, the TV is going in the living room. And still only rarely being watched (usually Brit-coms).

My mother, though, blares her TV in the middle of the night. It's the only way she can sleep.

I have trouble falling asleep without the tv on, I can understand what you are saying about it mucking up your sleeping patterns as I rarely sleep well. But without the background noise to focus on I end up stressing about stupid things I have no control over and get myself too worked up to sleep. Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't issue for me.

I have a tv in my room for the off chance I want to play my PS2 or watch a movie. I really don't use it other than that. I tend to just use my bedroom for puttering around on my computer or, ya know, that sleep thing.

Yes, I have a tv in my room. I have one, so I don't have to watch what the hell my parents are watching. When I can't sleep, I'll turn it on and watch the science channel or something to fall asleep. We have almost one TV in every room in my house, but the bathroom and kitchen. My parents sleep with the living room TV on, because my dad says that listening to the history channel, or science, or discovery channel makes him smarter or whatever. I don't think that is true, though.

We'd probably have a TV in the bedroom if we had the room for it. But we had one in our bedroom before and all it did was make our living room irrelevant when we didn't have company unless we were doing something like playing cards. We didn't watch it any more or any less than we do now.

No. That's not true. We watch a lot more TV now than we used to. In the living room. Because we don't have a car and getting to the huge, awesome hiking locations we can spend all day in is impossible unless we take a cab.

We've been doing other things, recently, though, like walking, or playing cards, or reading. Still in the living room. We're both too claustrophobic to do much more than sleep in our bedroom, I think.

My laptop makes it into my room more often than I care to admit. And hulu is often open (or, currently, this awesome site with every episode of Daria) while it's in here. :/

No. We don't even use our old TV in the living room much. It is only for video games and the rare video. Current U.S. television shows have not been seen on it in something like 7 years. So it would be wasteful for us to get a TV and put it in our bedroom. It would also be another thing to dust. I've considered it so we could watch videos and play games in bed, but we can do that just fine in the living room. It's best to keep the bedroom free of distractions, I think. I know some people like to have a TV on while they sleep, but with us, we're almost constantly bathed in a glow of a computer screen. Our bodies' clocks are definitely messed up. I like to go to sleep at 5 a.m. now.

We have one in the bedroom. I used to have it on like, all the time, but he hates sleeping with the TV on all night long, so at this point I'll set the timer on it and keep the volume low. I have a hard time just going to sleep, I have to drift off doing something else, lol

I'v never had a tv in my own room and I don't want one. When my husband and I live out of a single room we always have a TV in there and there are times I wish it would go away!! I don't like being tempted to watch TV until I fall asleep because I'll just stay up later. I find myself watching TV instead of doing better things just because it's easier.

I guess eventually this won't be a problem because we won't have cable but then we'll just have video games instead...

I, too, when possible, leave a TV on a timer to go to sleep. Yes, I'm afraid of the dark, ok?! *sob*

However, I rarely find that the TV will wake me in the middle of the night. And I can sleep equally horribly with or without a TV on. Take it or leave it, I guess. But I like to have the opportunity to put it on a timer, in case the boogie man decides to make a visit.
