I have a laptop and my parents have a desktop, I like my laptop because it gives me more privacy and I can carry it around with me.

With all my school work and job there's no way I could stand a desktop! My laptop stays right beside my bed because I'm always having to do some kind of work whether it's a story, an assignment or a lecture. It's gotten a ton of use! I carry it around a lot too so there's no way a desktop would allow me to do my schooling.

Laptop, The only way to go in my opinion. I wouldn't want to go back to the desktop. Laptop travels anywhere and everywhere.

I would never go back to a desktop! The laptop can go anywhere and in winter I can curl up in bed with it!

In the past I have only ever managed to keep a laptop for about a year before it is completely and totally hopeless. I like the stability of a desktop for this reason. However, I'm not home a lot so I like to have a laptop to take with me to work or school so that I can work on homework when I get a chance. I've spent many lunch breaks writing papers! We aren't allowed to plug anything into our work computers due to the high security nature of our work area.

Just try and FULL FUNCTION tablet and you may not look at that laptop the same...if you want portability.

Have a desktop that is disconnected and put away. Both my wife and I have our own laptops using wi-fi in the house. This is so much easier than a single desktop device that has to be shared.

We've dumped our desktops cuz they're old, and everybody's using laptops now. My husband will probably get a new desktop soon, he needs a better monitor to work with his photography hobbie.

I have a laptop. It allows me to do all the things I'd do on a desktop, but it's mobile. I need it for work, and always take it with me when I travel.

I use a lap top and will not use a desktop if I can help it. I much prefer the mobility and WiFi.

I use a laptop... I like to be comfortable lounging on the couch or laying in the bed when I'm online or working on the computer.

I have both but since i got an ipad 2 the laptop use has died off lol. Need my desktop though for gaming laptop just cant do what it can. My rig when turned on will dim the lights in the neighborhood >.>

Every time i go back to my laptop which is good mind you we have a Republic of Gamers Asus one that eats batteries for breakfast but my desktop in convenience dept it def does not win over the ipad man i love that thing.

A laptop is fine as an internet appliance but I'm sticking to desktops for gaming, editing audio/video, Photoshop, and use as servers. Heck, even my HTPC is a desktop; find me a USB sound device for a laptop that'll support 5.1 surround sound with a 96KHz sampling rate on all channels.

Laptop only. I do have a desk set up with keyboard/mouse/etc, but I prefer a laptop to a desktop computer because I can travel with it.

I have a desktop because I don't really need the portability, and I don't want to have to worry about the battery in a laptop.

I'm desktop fan. I use to have two different laptops and both broke and cost too much to fix at the repair shop and I don't know how to fix a laptop on my own whereas my desktop is much easier to fix if it goes wacky (something I can do myself usually) and has lasted for years and years. It just keeps on a-tickin'!

We have both and I love them both for different reasons. I've noticed lately that when I just want to surf the net I'll go on the laptop because I like having the ability to move around the house with it. When I'm playing games or using other programs I like having the desktop. Our desktop also has a ton more memory, so I don't have to worry about running out of room for all my pictures, music, etc.
