I'd think guys would be different. :/ Only time mine get sensitive is like if I wear a loose t-shirt without a bra for like 2 weeks. lol. I usually wear a bra so I don't really get super sensitive.

I got mine done almost two years ago and love them, though I personally think some boobs fit them and some don't. I previously had super sensitive nipples and the piercings increased my sensitivity. The only annoying part is occasionally one gets caught on my clothes when changing and gets irritated, but after sea salt soaks the inflammation goes down. I got mine done for myself, personal empowerment. Just make sure you really want them before you do it. Healing can take 6 months - a year.
