I answered for the wife, she finds it very uncomfortable to go and see hers.

I hate it. But my last exam, my first OB appointment in which I had a PAP smear, my dr. was very kind and gentle. It was over so fast, hardly bothered me at all. I think the dr's manner has a lot to do with it.

It's over really fast so it's not a big deal.

Well it's not like I LOVE it and can't for it and get all excited like Christmas. But I go because I want to make sure if anything should ever happen that it could hopefully get taken care of before it turns serious.

I don't get an annual exam for anything, much less lady things lol

Also I'm not old enough to get regular pap smears but I think it would just feel uncomfortable with cold steel. When I went to a gyn the room itself was actually quite comforting, it had pictures of comic strips and had a mobile of fish (artsy one, not a baby thing) and has nice colors on the wall. I actually liked sitting in there better than the normal doctors office, plus the fact that I was able to get a woman made it a lot better for me. The lady I got was very nice and I think if she's still working there when I get older I'll relax more into the experience.

The last time I went in (March, I think) I had to see a different doctor because my regular doctor was out on extended leave. This new doctor was not as good as my other doctor, it felt like she was digging around down there for a long time and she wasn't as gentle as my original doctor. Hopefully my doctor will be back the next time I have to go in.

I find it like I find all my other doctor appointments. Nod and smile, and wait for it to be over.

The part I hate the most, is the doctor and nurses only speak Chinese. They think because I am a foreigner, I don't understand. The comments they make thinking I don't understand are quite unprofessional. I mean seriously ladies. Wait till I at least have my pants on before you make comments about how ginormous my labia is, or about how I am going to get cancer because I shave my mound. But then, me being me, I wait till I have my pants on till I tell them in perfect Chinese how unprofessional they are.

I think the worse part is my mother always wants to be in the room. After she saw The Hand That Rocks the cradle she's paranoid about doctor appointments and sexual harassment lol

It depends a lot on the doctor, I think. A doctor who listens makes me more comfortable.

I hate it but it's a necessary evil. I put it off as long as I can but my doctor always catches me and yells at me.

I don't mind them. I've been seeing the same doctor for 20 years and he's really good and fast. I hate getting my physical from the GP. She is a new doctor with the clinic I use so we don't have a good repor yet.

I did, my first Pap smear / ultra sound. I have horrible ovaries. Anyways I guess I wasn't used to being pried open and such.

Eh. I have no problems, but I've only had one ever, just last week. It was over very quickly. After the nurse left, the doctor came in, quickly examined me, and was gone. And I really don't know what I -should- feel uncomfortable about. Things are what they are. Even if it were a male.. I really don't think I'd be uncomfortable. But, I suppose we'll see.

I don't mind, it feels good to know I'm all checked out. Pap smears tickle though and the Gyno always seems confused when I start laughing.

The doctor's office isn't my favorite place to be, whether it's for an annual or a check-up.

It's uncomfortable...especi ally because between my risky pregnancy and moving and changing insurance, I have now had about 10 doctors look at my vagina over the last 4 years.
