Of The Senses That You Have, Is There Any Sense That You Have That You Feel Is More Hyper Sensitive...

... Or More Superior Than The Others You Have?

For example, you feel you have a more distinguished palate, or you may feel you have superior eyesight, or more acute hearing, etc

I added common sense & sense of humor, decency & no sense because I thought they were funny to include!

EDIT: ARGH! Can't edit the listed choices & feel stupid for lower case 'i's & worse, the typo of then instead of than, damn it.

I've got quite a few. But not in a way that my senses are sharp, but rather they bother me when overstimulated.

smell - I am very sensitive to smells. When someone cooks curry next door I have to leave the house. It is pretty bad.

taste - I am a glutton and a food snob at the same time. There is a crazy amount of food I would not eat.

touch - anything with just a little texture irritates my skin e.g. bedsheets.

sight - my sight is actually far from great, but my eyes are very sensitive to the light.

Sense of smell - I pick up things that C can't. I've even noticed my own scent changing the past couple of months because of being with him much more often. Although it really sucks when people use fragrances the wrong way. XP

Sometimes my skin gets hyper-sensitive and I can't stand some textures. It also gets irritated at random times by random things when I've never had problems with them before.

I also have an overbearing sense of responsibility. ;p

I can find the humor in almost anything. However, I smell really well too. For instance, I can't stand when ketchup isn't rinsed immediately from a plate after eating.

I don't like super strong tastes, be it super sweet, sour, salty, spicy, or bitter things, but that tends to be more of an issue than a gift!

I like to think that I have a good sense of humor, but I have to really feel comfortable around people to express it... And know that it won't offend the people I'm with!

I knew I missed some, darn it! Thanks for adding the sense of responsibility!

All my senses are quite sharp, but my hearing and taste senses are extremely fine tuned. My family used to joke because I could hear them talk about me from the opposite side of the house and on a different floor.

Those of you who are not interested in the human psyche, should not bother reading my babble.

I would likely choose sight, as my most heightened sense. I’m not choosing sight for acuity sake, but because of visual perception. Visual perception is one of the senses of the body which allows the brain to intercept and interpret visible light. The Gestalt theory in psychology explains how the brain deals with visual input, and the ways in which the brain smoothes out and normalizes images to make sense of them.

Perception is abstract. It cannot be measured, or weighed for accuracy. So, from my perspective, I’ll try explaining abstract perception this way. Years ago in school, I remember a class in which color perception was discussed. Each of us have grown up understanding what a color is. Grant it, some people are color blind. However, none of us truly know what another persons perception of an actual color is. I may look at red, but your perception is yellow. You then know yellow as red. So, that is perception 101.

Generally speaking, my heightened visual sense measures cohesive symmetry. Subtle nuances are collected and interpreted, which might go unnoticed by others. It allows me to better judge such things as architectural and structural works, or real and abstract art. A good cinematographer would be one adaptation example. The downside of this trait though, is that you seek perfection. But, as you well know, perfection is unobtainable.

There's this thing called being a supertaster. It's uncommon, but usually found in women (they generally have more tastebuds than men). :O Think of it like having a superpower!

My sense of smell is the strongest out of all of them. I wish it could be something else though because sometimes I want to chop off my nose.

We can't all be above average!! Haha, I have no superior senses. I chose common sense, because I'm a wishful thinker ; )

I seem to have a very "intelligent" palate. I can usually figure out what's in something when I taste it, and I can adjust the seasonings of things I'm cooking, and "fix" the off-kilter seasonings when my wife gets on the wrong track with something. Unfortunately, I don't much like cooking!

When I was younger, I used to have outstanding vision, but now it's just average.

I have really good hearing, which sucks when trying to sleep. I've resorted to earplugs so I don't get woke up. I still hear my alarm clock, it's crazy how I can still hear it but pretty much they block out everything else.
My allergies suck, makes me sensitive to certain smells that just instantly cause a headache.

I've always been "the funny one" of my group of friends so I guess my sense of humor. I also have pretty good hearing, except when I'm really focusing on something. When that happens I tend to tune things out.

My eyesight is out of this world. Everyone is amazed, especially since everyone in my family had glasses since their teenage years.

My sense of smell and touch are my two most hypersensitive senses. At least the acknowledged senses--but my sense of intuition is extremely highly developed. I just need to listen to it more...

Damn, I missed adding intuition to my list! Glad you mentioned it, I consider it a sense for sure! I also agree, it takes work to overcome the rational & listen to intuition and to hone it.
