Dealing with Office Politics??

Contributor: RedGlitter RedGlitter
Hello!

Since I have a FEW “moral” beliefs, I do get a little agitated when someone at work mentions something that goes against MY beliefs.

I usually speak up a little, but when they get loud I usually just let it go…I know people can hold a grudge, so it’s best to let them think like idiots than get in a fight with a co-worker.

My Fiancé, on the OTHER HAND, WILL tell EVERYONE exactly what he thinks about everything! Sometimes resulting in the other person getting a little more than confrontational. Although I don’t like the thought of arguments, I DO wish I were a little more outspoken about my thoughts.

So, let’s say you are at work, or another social gathering where you WILL see this person everyday…and say this person goes on about an issue that you REALLY care about, but thinks the TOTAL OPPOSITE and trashes your view.

How would YOU react??

Get a little heated myself; this person is a fool, but I won't go over-board

I am so lucky that I don't have to deal with it. At all. I'm so young and down on the totem poll, everyone tells me what is wrong, and I don't have to touch the actual problem with a ten foot poll. So far, the only thing that has happened is I got promoted from a cave-like room to one with natural lighting so YAHOO I WIN.

I am kind of like that too and people don't know how to take me because I don't think we have to argue about anything. We are 2 different people with 2 different opinions, that's what makes us unique and I like it. I feel like this but no one else seems too..lol I like it and wish more people could do it and I try never too lie so that makes it a little tougher.

It depends on the person, some people are just not worth it.

I don't even bother. I go to work to make money, if I wanted a political debate then I could go to somewhere on the internet where people will gladly argue opinions.

I never say anything, but apparently I have a terrible poker face. Whatever I'm thinking usually shows on my face and I get called out for it, at which point I always notice that my cup is empty and I need to get a refill.
