Rainy, dark, dank weekend. Do we go out or just hang around the house and veg out??? What do YOU do?

It is GREY and RAINY. Almost noon and looks like 9 pm. Body say's stay in bed...heck with the day, but wife wants to go shopping and out to dinner. SHE wins.

So...what do YOU do when it is a grey, dark, rainy weekend. Do you STILL go out and play (or shop..etc) or do you veg out more and become a "home body"?

As I'm experiencing this as well (the tropical storm that isn't), I did both - went out thrifting and grocery shopping, then returned home to the cozy sofa and tea. It's a sort of adventure with a nice ending. Although I need to invest in a pair of wellies.

A rainy weekend in San Diego is so rare - we relish the chance to veg.

depends if its my day off or not. I would just stay busy and do things I need and like to do indoors.

If there's nothing to do and we actually have a day together, we stay in and cuddle all day (and nap on and off) or grope and have sex, depending on where our moods take us, but it seems that day-long cuddle sessions are where it's at.

I go half and half... I need a day or so a week to stay in and then work 5 so... really I just call my shots as I see them. I live in a climate where it's dark and wet all winter long, so I'm pretty used to it by this point. I exercise and do things to make sure I stay happy, and sometimes relish staying in with the sound of rain pounding on the rooftop.

Here in Texas where it is so often hot and humid - a rainy day is a nice treat (especially if it is a thunderstorm) and that's a perfect time for us to stay in and play or even just cuddle together.

So we'd probably stay and play and veg versus leaving the house.

We do a little of both. We will go out for a bite to eat, maybe spend a tiny bit of time shopping, and the rest is indoors, snuggling, watching TV or on our computers together.

Just like what Miss Voluptuous said, we're used to the grey and rainy Falls and Winters here in the northwest. Nothing will stop us if we needed to venture out, but I enjoy spending time just hanging around the house, doing nothing in particular. Besides, Sundays are football days, my husband's glad that I'm not dragging him away from the TV!

Well, we are both home bodies anyway. We look for any reason to stay home and veg. But dark, grey weather isn't new to either of us, so if we have something we need to do it won't stop us or change our plans.

I absolutely love gray, rainy, overcast days! Of course, that's probably because we get so few of them where we live. I associate overcast days with coziness. They provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy a hot beverage and to wear clothes made of cuddly material. I always feel so pampered on rainy days. It's all about the sensory experience.

I love to either cuddle up in a comfy chair to read a good book or laze on the couch or bed to drift off into a nap while listening to the pitter-patter of rain on the windowpane and feeling soft material against my skin. There is nothing more comforting to me than that pitter-pattering sound . . . Add in the smell of damp earth, and I am in heaven!

Rainy days also provide the perfect opportunity to watch a movie at home or to play a game (which I get to do so very rarely). It's wonderful to light candles to cast an enchanting glow to offset the dim light. My husband is not into massages, but a rainy, overcast day sets the perfect ambiance for this. . .

I also love to go to the mall with my husband for window shopping or to an indoor aquarium and zoo that we love to frequent. Grabbing a bite at a restaurant while we enjoy the fact that we are safe inside from a downpour just makes the experience just that much more cozy and enjoyable. At some point during our rainy day excursion, a visit to a Starbucks is almost always mandatory . . .

I wish we had more rainy days . . . I think I'd love visiting the English countryside, Ireland, Scotland, and Washington state.

It is. Best possible way to waste a day in my book. The most we did all day that day was migrate to the couch long enough to watch some TV.

In Alaska we have a saying, "There is no such things as bad weather, just bad gear!"

So no! We don't necessarily feel this way just because it is rainy, maybe when there is a blizzard, yeah. However, about twice a month (regardless of the time of year) we do feel the need to stay in and in bed all day.

Don't get me wrong, I love it when it is raining in the evening and we open the windows to listen to the pitter-patter as we make love and fall asleep.

Weather has nothing to do with it for us, not usually anyway.

It depends on what we need to get done that day.
