When I was a young teenager, I would say "Aunt Flo" was in town or "the Crimson Tide was rollin'" and somewhere along the way, I started saying "shark week". This usually illicits a gutteral laugh from the person I'm talking to when they realize I'm not talking about the Discovery specials on, you know, real sharks. So, what say you: What euphemism do you use when you're on your period?
Shark Week...No, Not *That* Shark Week

I use 'Shark Week' as well! lol. Period sex has been referred to as 'chumming the waters' by an ex.

I sometimes say 'The communists are invading'! But my favorite is 'riding the cotton pony'.

These are all pretty cute terms. I'm afraid I'm much more boring than all of you! With my man, I just say "my period". And since I'm on the pill, I'm able to give him plenty of warning. With friends, I think I just call it my time of the month - even though I only get one every 3 months! Usually that's the part I focus on, and it doesn't really come up that often since it only happens to me 4 times a year.

Mine's a nightmare! I have had endometriosis since my early teens so my periods have always been so extreme that I wasn't able to even attend school throughout the years and there were times where I'd not be able to move from the pain during my periods. Surgery helped tons, but thanks to all the suffering I call mine my curse. Lol. It really feels that way. Even now it's very bad, but with the meds and surgery I had, it's at least bearable. Still, no other word described mine besides "curse!" Lol

I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles, I can't imagine how you must have felt during the worst of it. I'm glad that you were able to at least lessen the effects.
