ok I was expecting a package today. I waited from 8 am till now. im one of those people that are addicted to tracking packages I knew since the other day it was coming today. And listened for the door and and check the window every 5 min. Ok so the truck came around 530 i saw the truck pull up to my building so i decided to sit not to far from the door and just wait an hour goes by this is nothing i live in a large apt building many people are expecting packages im sure. another 30 min goes by i look out window and the truck is gone I refresh the tracking and it says an attempt was made but no answer. I freaking waited all day and patiently for this package got excited for no reason and this happened but guess what it is not the first time. no one knocked on my door i guess the ups man has alot of packages then says what the heck ill just get that one tom. thats the only thing i can think of.

We've actually had very important things being delivered where the delivery man decides not to even bother knocking on the door, just leave a no-answer slip.

Once, husband asked me why I hadn't bothered to answer the door and sign for a package of his while he was at work. I said, "Honey, if I didn't hear the door, the kids didn't hear the door, and the DOG didn't hear the door, then nobody came to the door."

Well that's sucky. I'd call UPS and let them know you were home and no one bothered to knock.

This happened to me, but the mail man didn't even both to put the slip on the door. He left in the mailbox, and when I sent for a redelivery (because I'm too lazy to go to the post office) he did it again.

I have had this happen when a substitute driver was on the route. There are two houses on this driveway and no other houses for over a mile around. My hubby was home and said the truck pulled in and used our driveway to turn around--then left. Had to wait until Monday to get the goodies I had planned to play with over the weekend. Next time walk down to the mail truck--I do that now.

This happens to me specifically with Fedex. No knock, no anything. I'd call and complain if I were you. But now for the "it could be worse" videos!

Well what I would do is next time you are waiting for a package walk out to the truck. Introduce yourself and ask for your package. Try to get to know him/her a little bit. It's trite but true, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. And no, you shouldn't have to do this, but it may save you frustration later.

wow that's really shitty. I'm addicted to tracking and waiting for the mail to arrive too. I would be pissed if this happened. you should def call ups and complain

When I see it I try to walk out. Although I'd rather have them not deliver than leave it with someone else. We ordered a new laptop and the mail guy left it with a neighbor. It was ok, because we knew her and she didn't even get what it was, but the mail man didn't know that! And it's not a small enough town for that to be the norm.

They just leave my stuff on my porch. No one has ever messed with it. I'd be pissed if I waited all day and the guy didn't even knock. Call and report it! I'd also probably walk down to the truck from now on.

I phone the local delivery supervisor. I've had the delivery truck rerouted to redeliver my package immediately if the delivery person doesn't make a fair attempt to deliver the package. I even have some of that laziness on surveillance video.

When I'm expecting a delivery, and can't be hovering near a window, I leave a note on the door telling them I'm home, the door is unlocked, and to come on in and put it on the table. With EF stuff, though, I usually hover near the window, just in case, because I don't want someone else in my household accidentally opening the box.

This has also happened to me, by everyone but USPS. I've had FedEx want to return packages to the sender because the delivery person did not make a SINGLE attempt to deliver the three times they say they will.

I've also heard the UPS person coming and opened the door to see them throw my package all the way up the flight of stairs to my apartment, and slam into the door frame.

Thankfully I can say this has never happened to me. Worst that has happened was the delivery person sticking a box in my mailbox that was supposed to come to the door, which could have been pretty bad considering the box had live crayfish in it on a hot day. Thankfully I checked the mail fairly early and they all made it into my aquarium safe and sound. I'd have killed someone if they just left a slip in my mailbox and didn't even bother to try and deliver that or any of the other packages of live fish I've ordered, though.

That actually happened to us once. We checked our tracking for a package that was due and it said the address was "undeliverable." Double checked the address we used with the company and it was correct. I guess they were just too lazy to walk up the stairs and deliver the package. Damn lazy people.

I've had this crazyness lately too! I had two packages arriving in the same week -- last week. I'm only 2 hours away from EF's actual building and my second package took 5 days. The first took 3. I'm this close to EF and mine never arrive before 3 days, so I can only imagine how long others who are further away have to wait. No idea why it's happening like this. Seems like the last purchase I made, the shipping was even higher too, if I recall correctly?

I never track my packages. I'm really patient about it I guess. I just wait for it to arrive, when it does, that's good. However, an entire 5 days is a tad annoying considering how close I am and how much we pay shipping! I don't mind an extra day's waiting though.

Sounds like it was your carrier in this case? You can see on their slip thingy when it arrived to them.

Wait a second. You said UPS? That's your problem right there. Do a little research on all the problems associated with UPS! I absolutely will not use them if I have a choice because my shi* would arrive literally torn to hell and back. The last straw was a year ago when my horridly expensive college course books/materials arrived in the middle of the F'ing road, torn open and ran over and wet. HATE UPS! Do not use them if you have a choice. I go priority now, and it may take longer (not sure if it does or not?) but I always get a non-destroyed package. I actually had to make 8 reports with UPS and my postal office due to the continuos ruined packages. Now I had one arrive two days ago via UPS, but it was an item from someone, not something I paid UPS for. I don't trust them as far as I can throw em'. They are bad about not delivering on time.

I have had it happen once with USPS. It was really strange because my packages are always just left on the porch. They never knock and even if they did, I am home when the mail gets delivered. That time I just got a note saying an attempt had been made but no one answered the door. It was redelivered 3 days later- and yes, just placed on the porch.

I have never had a problem with UPS.

I have personally had this happen, and it infuriates me. Especially when they don't knock, yet they leave a note on my door that "warns" me that my item will be returned to sender on the 3rd try. I'm home basically every single day until after 4...

Do you live in a major city? Because Queens NY is a bitch like that too. They just drive up, honk, and wait five seconds for someone to come too them, like a damn ice cream man, and if no one does, away he goes. Then you get the pleasure of standing in line at the UPS store for a damn hour only to be told they returned it to sender! Yeah...I f'n love that !!!

I'd call and complain, but I'd say something like "there must have been some misunderstanding, maybe he knocked on the wrong door" that way they still know what happened and you don't sound like a jerk
