spin-off poll; are you happy shopping off the rack anywhere?

I can find clothes anywhere but prefer consignment shops. I hate paying tons of money for shit that is "proportioned" when I can find it totally cheaper somewhere else.

Being a parent and having our entire family live on one income, I don't really have a choice except to make "off the rack" clothes work!

I'm petite, but Zaftig. It's hard to find clothes that fit my frame, as most petite clothing makers assume you don't have good sized breasts or a butt. "Women's" sizes fit my bust and butt sometimes, but are cut wrong for my size everywhere else.

But, as it is, I don't have the luxury to shop anywhere but at mostly discount stores, very occasionally nice stores if they are having a big sale. My money has to go to take care of children, pay taxes, buy medication (I have several health conditions that require medication that is expensive and that limits my ability to spend money as I wish on much else for myself) buy household things, car repairs, house repair, bills, food etc.

I wish this was something I could worry about, but my worries are elsewhere. I buy what seems to fit, and I have to make it work "off the rack." Wish this was something I could bother with, but my worries are in other places.

For the longest time I could never found clothes because I was overweight. But now that I have received a lot of help from doctors and support from family and friends I have lost weight and can fit properly in clothes. It is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and I couldnt be happier. Though I hate that plus sized or petite people have to go to specialty stores, normal retailers should offer the same clothing!

Despite being 5'3" and over 200 pounds, I can still wear L-XXL in department stores or places like Target and Old Navy. I would buy more clothes from Lane Bryant, a plus-size stores, but they're too dang expensive!! That's the only place I can find bras, though.

I wouldn't say I never find the clothes I'm looking for, but it is rare. I wear something like 28-30/30 trousers, which is very uncommon, and often, if I do, it's in a store that charges over £100. There's no way in hell that I'm paying that much for clothes. I just don't care that much. As a result, my jeans (for jeans are the ones I most often find of that size, and so my wardrobe is mainly said material) are often too long, too baggy, or uncomfortable.

It's really hard for me to find clothes as my bottom half is a lot bigger than my top. Jeans especially are notorious for being baggy in the waist and too tight through the hips and thighs. I can't afford to go custom, so I have to go on marathon shopping trips and *sometimes* can find something. It sucks, majorly.

It's so damned frustrating for me. Not only am I plus sized, which makes any shopping trip an "adventure" but I have a big bust AND I'm tall and have long arms and legs. Let's not even go into shoes and bras... shopping for them is a nightmare for me! and OMG... bathing suits!... cringe...

I'm rather on the larger size wearing size 22 so I just look for 2x clothes. The bras are the kicker for me. Everytime I go to Walmart or Kmart I look for my size and it's a rareity when they do have something for a DD cup.

Clothing designers seem to believe that any person who is 5'1 and weighs under 100 lbs is a teenager, so I have to find all of my clothing in the juniors or children's departments in stores. It's annoying. I have hips and breasts and I would like clothing that fits them, please.

I'm a woman of about average build but I usually have to snip and sew and alter things a little bit to get them to fit how I want.

I'm never really sure to whether to look at the regular sizes or the plus sizes. I need a larger size on top because of my boobs, but my hip size is at the high end of normal sizes. I don't usually have a problem finding pants, skirts or shorts. Tops usually look weird on me. They don't seem to sit right on me because of how big my boobs are. I have a hard time finding dresses that fit.

I have a really hard time finding bras. There is ONE store in my city that stocks my size, but it's a specialty store that doesn't have a large range. I'm not happy with the quality of the fitting I got there. If I wanted a bikini or swimsuit, I'd most likely have to order online. I've never seen anything in stores that would accommodate my boobs.

i read an interesting article about this, it said that the only reason so many superstars / famous / rich people look good in t-shirts and jeans, etc., is because even -those- are hand-tailored to suit them... ie., it's nearly impossible to find stuff that will fit super-perfectly.
