This should hopefully be a somewhat happy post, inspired by the fact that it really does seem as though it's the simple things in life that are the best. What are some of the simple things in your life that just make you stop and smile most of the time?

For me, a few of them are finding a cool spot in the bed when everything else is really warm, or finding the warm spot in the bed when everything is is pretty chilly. One of my favorites is to watch my engagement ring turn into a little disco ball while I'm at stop lights, lol

My dogs when they run in the back yard, so care free and just playing.

A nice sunset after a long day.

A perfect cup of coffee. Waking up and realizing I *don't* have to work. Staying in and cuddling. Many others, but those are pretty high on the list.

Oh, and receiving assignments from EF!

A pet cuddled against you in unconditional love.

Sunlight dappling through leaves.

Kids wearing their Halloween costumes several weeks early because they 'want to'.

The scent of pines when walking through a Christmas tree lot.

Crunching through autumn leaves in late afternoon sunlight.

Baking goodies for others.

Sigel bought me a three diamond ring (past, present, future) for my birthday and I love watching his eyes light up when it sparkles in the light at the dinner table.

I love being by the sea and swimming and collecting seashells and swimming with the fishes and watching the sunsets and boating and laying down in the sun while reading a book or listening to music. I swear, I am a mermaid.

Language barriers, turning right on red, sincere activism, thank you waves, tracing a woman's outline as she lays naked, ferns, wild kittens, sleeping in the nude, and redwood trees.

Rain! I love to be cuddled up in a cozy chair, reading a good book, or bundled up in bed, soothed by the pitter patter on the roof and window panes. I love the smell of fresh earth that rain awakens, too.

Getting lost in the sound of the wind rustling the tree branches and in the sensation of it caressing my face. Soothed by the chirping of birds and the rhythmic buzz of cicadas . . .

Waking up and realizing that I still have a couple more hours to sleep! Ahhh . . .

Yes!

When my cat snuggles underneath the blankets of a made bed. I smile and wonder how she gets under there.

When my niece sees me in the morning and runs into the room and cuddles me and sighs contently in my arms.

When I wake up laying next to my sweetheart and he looks at me all sleepy-eyed and bad morning breath and all, and just hugs me and we lay in bed for awhile.

When, I arrive from Texas to see him... he has flowers and one Stargazer lily for me.

When the room is chilly and I have a big blanket that warms my entire body and I can cuddle with a pillow.

How good his shirt smells <3

Taking a long hot bath, with bath salts and bubbles... reading a book and soft lighting... and slipping into comfy fleece pajamas.

Living in a rural enough area that our animals can be outside without a leash, chain, kennel or fence. (I take that for granted a lot, but I think I'd really miss it if we ever moved.)
