It's his body and therefore it should be his decision. He was perfect when he was born so leave him that way.

It never made a different to me but I have only been with one guy that didn't have it circumcised.

I would, but I'm religious. So it's never really been a consideration for me.

EdenFantasys' forums strike me as supportive of sexual pleasure. So WHY would people who like sex toys even consider circumcision? Circumcision removes the foreskin and much of the penile frenulum and, with them, all their thousands of nerve endings. Those tissues are not only pleasurable but are erogenous zones. The British Journal of Urology published a study that pointed out that the five most sensitive areas of the penis are removed by circumcision. If you're a woman, how would you feel if you had to have your clitoral hood removed?

Men can have foreskin-based orgasms, even multiple orgasms. Women around here are intrigued by different orgasms: clitoral, g-spot, cul-de-sac, etc. Shouldn't men also have all the different kinds of orgasms they can?

Circumcision causes the glans to become dry and make the epithelium thicker with age, akin to scar tissue. Feel the soft moist mucosal tissue on your lips, inside your mouth or inside your vagina; now comapre that to the skin under your feet.

As has been pointed out in previous comments, circumcision does not benefit health or decrease STD transmission. These beliefs are myths; the proof is that circumcision is uncommon in Europe and medical studies have compared the health and sexual well-being of adult uncircumcised European males to those of adult circumcised North American males. Also, in infants, the foreskin protects the penis from fecal matter in diapers. The popularity of circumcision in North America isn't due to religious tradition but due to the advocacy of Dr. John Kellogg in the 19th century as a means to curb masturbation; yes, that's the same Kellogg who invented corn flakes.

If someone wants to get a circumcision for religious (or other) reasons, he can choose to do so as an adult. A child doesn't have the choice not to be circumcised.

If you're going to discuss circumcisions at all, make sure you watch this video in its entirety, without turning away.

I don't think circumcision is a good plan unless there are complications with the foreskin- the procedure can be done later in life if it's necessary and then the kid can choose for himself.

I'm pleased to be circumcised - as is my son.

My elder uncle who had his prostate removed - is going back in to be circumcised at 76 because the penis is shortened (because a section of urethra is removed) and the foreskin makes urination very difficult.

It hasnt been difficult to take care of so far. That's why I felt like... why even put him through it? I just give him a bath daily and change his fingers when they need changed. It seems like taking coffee of the gauze and stuff could be worse after the circumcision.

I've had partners that are both cut and uncut, and it doesn't matter to me. That being said, if I ever have children (I probably won't), I have very strong feelings against circumcision.

Really, just bathing him if he's uncircumcised is all you need to do. If I were you (I'm not, of course), I would just leave it be.

Hear, hear! Great answer - I couldn't agree more! Also coming from a country where circumcision was unusual, to the US where I hear all sorts of BS.

Hygiene? I have been taking care of my own hygiene for fifty years, and have never had 'fungus' or other similar problem. Take a look on the shelves at Walgreens to see how many 'jock itch' sprays and creams are available, and bought by circumcised Americans - that's a genital fungicide!

As the clit and clitoral hood are basically the same structure, how many women here advocate female circumcision on the basis of hygiene? Poor pussy hygiene is just a prevalent as poor cock hygiene.

'Staying power' - so infant circumcision is OK because he will last longer during sex when an adult? Staying power and the ability to orgasm are as much in the head on your shoulders as they are in the other 'head'. I regularly 'play' for hours, as long as twenty hours, and have never suffered from early ejaculation. If sensitivity is a problem, there are potions and lotions to desensitize available on this site.

So Abraham instigated circumcision to stop his son masturbating? Hands-up all you circumcised guys who can't masturbate! At least I don't need lotions and lubes to avoid damaging myself.

Historically, circumcision pre-dates Abraham - and was part of the rites-of-passage for a youth into adulthood - it was not practised on infants.

Infant circumcision was almost uniquely a Jewish tradition, to the extent that Jews who were required to pay special taxes during the period of occupation were identified by tax officials by being circumcised. As long ago as 200 B.C. there are records of Jewish men hanging weights from their member in order to encourage regrowth of a foreskin, because there was a social stigma to being circumcised.

I agree with @roskat, infant circumcision has no place in 2013, other than for faith based reasons. Later in life, a choice can be made by the 'owner' if it is wanted for cosmetic or medical reasons.

I would have been interested to see 'Matters (Women)' split into 'Matters - better' and 'Matters - worse' - does it matter because sex is better with a uncircumcised guy, or because it is not as good?

I'm also puzzled at the validity of the poll - currently there are 57 votes submitted by 47 voters - suggesting that 10 people voted in more than one category. Men, either you are or you are not, Women, either it makes a difference or it doesn't.

OP - it seems that your decision for infant circumcision might be influenced by the fact that women might enjoy better sex with him in 20 years? Really? Please, let him decide when he is old enough. What if his sex life is adversely affected by the desensitized head that will result?

This is a topic that should strongly be talked about with your partner (if there is one), as mentioned in other comments, it can be a very serious matter.

As a woman I have been with both, circumcised & non circumcised. My husband is circumcised & we agreed to get our now 3 year old circumcised when he was born. I understand that having it done is a cosmetic surgery & their are risk, but everyone has their own personal opinions as to why they have it done or not done for that matter.

I also understand that if the male is un circumcised there is proper cleaning that has to be done to avoid infections, rash, etc & it all reflects back to how the male takes care of himself. When I was with my ex who was not I had more infections than I have ever had (if you follow) & I took care of my self very well, never had any problems until I was with him & I didn't loose my virginty until I was 17 (with him). Now I do realize that this does goes back to how he takes care of himself & how it can happen to even circumcised males.

Just do your research, talk with your partner, & maybe make a list of pros & cons as to why y'all want to get it done and/or not done.

In my opinion it should be the man's choice when he gets old enough to decide. I'm against any unnecessary surgery without a person's consent.

Ok I'm sorry but I already forgot what I voted.

My partner and I are still discussing this after 6 years and to be honest we still are a bit undecided. Not due to disagreement but more weighing the possibilities. As a circumcised man hes is very happy with his penis but I have dated somebody who has long term damage due to his circumcision gone wrong. It scarred him mentally and physically and I would hate to do that to our future child.

Since we have no religious affiliation the deems it necessary even though we both find if visually less attractive (and this is purely personal opinion no offense is intended in any way) we both feel that for health reasons and risk avoidance we may go against what has just always been done in both of our families. I know there is a possibility my child would want it done in the future and that healing time would be longer as an adult but I would want it to be a choice he made for his own reasons weather they were aesthetic or for function.

my nephew was circumcized when he was like two years old because his foreskin kept getting swollen from being too tight..better to avoid it and get it done before they really know what's going on.

Why is most of the discussion about hygiene and appearance? The main issue is that the foreskin is a great source of pleasure and that removing it is nothing but mutilation.

My hubby is circumcised so that's all I've ever known. I can't see any male getting it done after he is old enough to make that decision. If the reason its being done is hygiene then I think he needs to be introduced to soap & water instead of a knife.
