Have you had any toys damaged by extreme heat?

Contributor: GirlOnGirl GirlOnGirl
Recently, I've heard a couple stories about people's toys getting destroyed by exposure to heat. In one case, the person left a toy bag in the trunk of their car during the summer and in another the person had the toys in a bin in a storage facility. Has this happened to you?

No personally, but I can certainly see it happening with cheaper materials.

Rubber/plastic can definitely discolor and melt in higher temperatures. We had a couple cheap older toys melt together a bit a couple years back. Now we mostly buy silicone/glass/metal so it's a non-issue.

Yes, my trinity wand was damaged because my frisky fingers bullet vibe melted in my toy box due to heat. Nothing else was damaged, thankfully.

No, because I don't have them where the heat can get to them.

in my reviews, I state we should always keep our toys away from heat and direct sunlight - to protect from possible damage.

Not from heat. But from water. I got a vibe wet and it stopped working. Kinda my fault. But oh well.

I've had toys melt together. This was before I knew about jelly toys and storing them. I honestly don't know if it was heat, or just the fact that they were made of crap material and stored together. With my new collection (I've thrown out a lot of cheap materials and added a lot of higher end materials) I haven't had it happen.

Edit: Just realized I voted "no". Whoopsie.
