Just found out over the phone that my sister did even less planning than I did, so apparently we aren't alone in last minute gifts. Plus my Dad's birthday is the 22nd and we needed to plan those presents and cake as well. Dad makes it hard because he doesn't stick to the unspoken rule of not buying yourself stuff you want leading up to your birthday. Just this past week he bought himself three of the gifts I was planning on getting him.

I hate it when people do that! My mom does it all the time. If my guy ever decides he wants kids, he'd be in the same boat on holiday-proximity (his birthday is today).
