Had a personally designed gateway till it was outdated and needed to upgrade. Now its an ASUS, LOVE IT!

I think every computer we have in the house right now is a dell. I know after dealing with customer support for the first one, we loved the company so much we kept buying from them.

I built my PC. I did a lot of research when I put it together and it's still not close to being obsolete four years later. For portable computing, I have an ASUS EeePC, but I find it mostly being replaced my my Android these days.

We have 2 very old Dell desk tops. They were good for a while, but both developed problems and are only used occasionally now. One won't even accept the internet, but it's so old. There isn't enough room on the drive for it.
My kids and I have HP laptops. I like them. My youngest dd's is starting to rev a lot, and it's only been with us since October. It was a reconditioned, so I hope we can get it taken care of. Mine is a reconditioned, too. It's so much faster than the desk top I was used to.
I'm still getting used to Windows 7. But, I like the computer.

I used to like HP, but they are no longer building laptops, or so I have heard. My desktop is built by an out-of-a-garage company, and I love it so far.

Buy a custom built computer from an experienced individual or a reliable local store. Have them build it to the specifications you want. This is what I did and I saved money and got only what I wanted from the deal, albeit it took several weeks before it was finished.
