"Pop" is a midwest thing. On the east coast it's always soda or whatever the brand name is.

(The same thing with "Sah-Sidge" no self respecting Chicagoan would call it "Saw-sage")

Pop. I've heard people call it soda around here, too, though. I had a friend from Australia who called it "fizzy drink". I used to crack up about it, but he pointed out that it made more sense to call it that... and I couldn't really argue with him.
