Hey all!

I am currently downloading a game (legally) that is 1008mb, I am currently downloaded a total of 34% of that, that being 349mb. At first it told me that it would take me 150 hours. And well its been about....hmmm 30, maybe more. I have around 70 more to go it is saying.

So out of curiosity, anyone else download a big file? How long did it take you?

My biggest file was about 1.2gb before at a 2.6kbps download speed. Took me awhile, but thankfully the file was broken up into 10- 110mb files. it seemed to go faster that way. Dialup sucks, and rural Dial-up sucks even more! My dialup runs at 26kbps, half the speed of regular 56kbps dialup.

I believe WOW with all the expansions was over 10 GB? That's my biggest download. It took a full day.

You must download reallllllly slow! That stinks. 2.6bps is like dial up speed? Mine ranges from like 100-300 depending on what else I am doing.

Back when the BBC insisted that the Doctor Who movie would never ever ever be released on dvd, ever, no matter what, I downloaded the movie. It was a little over a GB, which was pretty huge at the time. And now the movie is available on DVD, so I have to buy it anyway. Dang morals.

My download disappeaerd from my download manager after %36. that was a ful 360+mb thattook well over 40 to 50 hours. Feel like someone hit me 670 times in the stocmach with a baseball bat

When I have transfers that large, I use WinRar to segment the files so an aborted transfer only wastes the time spent with the last segment.

I think what is going to happen is, I am going to go to town and go to the library and use the WiFi. If I get a good % done then that is good.

There are worst places I could do this... Like a Hospital. Thats what its there for lol
