What is the longest distance you would travel/have traveled for a loved one? I have traveled about 1k miles for a loved one before, and would do it again in a heart beat.

The traveling part is no problem, I don't mind traveling for family and friends. It's the "affording to travel" part that bitches it all up.

750 miles one way.

The first time I did it, it was after working an 8 hour shift and I didn't get to stop to pee (because nowhere was open inside).

After driving it a couple times, I decided I'd just save up the extra $50 and take a plane.

Yeah, that. I'd drop everything and drive to help out a family member right now, it's just being able to afford making the journey.

I have traveled 550 miles for my boyfriend and my family. I would travel farther if I had to.

Affording it would be fucking nice, thank you. -punts airfare-

There isn't a distance that's too far. As someone mentioned upthread sometimes the economics make it difficult, but not the distance.

For love, I would probably hitchhike the distance of the world. It's pretty cheesy. Honestly, I would love to travel to see a loved one, but it's the "is this affordable right now?" that seems to affect my ability to do so.

I've flown a lot more than 3,000 miles! I have family in far off places, and though it's expensive to visit, we always try and manage to do it every 2-3 years. Talking on the phone just isn't the same.

Exactly! I would travel across the world for someone I love, but I generally can't afford it, which really sucks. I have traveled across the country, and even to other countries, but it took a lot of planning and a lot of saving.

I haven't travelled far - yet - but I plan to move from the UK to Australia, at some point. So quite far.
