What kind of chip to dip or snack on?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
There appear to be a crazy new bunch of chips out there. Pop Chips, Baked Chips, even new Chip Sticks (by Pringles). So...what kind of "new" chip do you think is great? Has it caused you to stop buying good old fashioned, fried "potato chips" that still seem to be everywhere?

I like the new Tostitos Artisan Recipes - Roasted Garlic & Black Bean (9 grain blend) tortilla chips. SO GOOD! But way too expensive, over $4 a bag, for goodness' sake! I love these with mashed avocado. The other chip flavors in the line are too spicy hot for me.

Another favorite, but not exactly new are the Lundberg Rice Chips! Unfortunately, they keep altering the ratio of masa to rice & they have never been as good as they were the first few years they came out. Now there are copy cat brands like Rice Works, but none have the excellent flavors of the Lundberg ones.

Special K cracker chips are not bad. Special K popcorn chips(triangle shaped) are weird. I like the Special K Crakers and Kashi crackers. I found POP chips too salty. The garden vegetable Wheat Thins crisps are really good. My daughter prefers baked chips, but I have to be in the mood for them.
Tostitos any way shape or form are f'kin fantastic!

Ohh, you reminded me of one of my all time favorite crackers & that's the Triscuit Rye with Caraway Seeds! It's really good & I have yet to get tired of them since they were introduced! The Triscuit Sea Salt Dill & Olive Oil are good, too, but I wouldn't buy them again, unless I can find something they taste really good with

I just tried the brand new Triscuit Brown Rice varieties. I tried the Savory Red Bean & it was not a hit with me, but I still want to try the other varieties!

Pirates Booty but it isn't new. They had a giveaway for a Norwegian Cruise on my bag because it had Spongebob on it and the fine print said "Ages 4-14" I was like what I watched Spongebob from the first episode. I'VE PAID MY DUES. Give me a cruise.

There were some good organic cheetos from Whole Foods that tasted like Mac N Cheese but they stopped carrying them.

Pop Chips are good, they're like popcorn but without all the kernels in your teeth.

I really like Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. I remember when they made a recycled bag to be eco friendly and it was so fucking crinkly. Like how am I supposed to be covert about 3am midnight snacking if I wake up the neighborhood with my "green" bag of chips.

Chicken and Waffle Lays taste like maple syrup chips. I was looking for Pizza Pringles one day and they had Cheeseburger and I was like "same difference, right?" WRONG. That was literally the most confusing thing I have ever tasted. It was just so weird. It tastes like onions, ketchup, mustard, other cheeseburger toppings but without the meat. It was just a really weird experience for my tastebuds and I gave them to someone else.

Those Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips are really good! I just tried them yesterday, funny you mentioned them. I was looking all over the bag trying to see where it said compostable, ha ha. Last time I saw a commercial was a long time ago & I remember the green bag thing. I tried Sun Chips when they first came out, but while good, they gave me a rash. I decided I was bored & desperate for crunch yesterday & grabbed a small bag. They were delicious & so far, no rash! I love crunchy foods, unfortunately I have a hollow had because I drive my mom crazy when I crunch, oh I drive her into fits if I eat Snyder's Hard Pretzels around her!!

I don't really enjoy any of the new chips as compared to some of the older ones...like 3D Doritos! I wish those would make a comeback!

My favorite "new" chips are Green Giant's veggie chips. They're really not that much healthier than regular chips, but they taste less salty without being bland, which is a huge selling point for me.

I still love me some Ketchup flavored Lays, though.
