What makes someone eligible?

Contributor: Allison.Wilder Allison.Wilder
I guess it doesn't really matter, but I just got assigned a product by an administrator and I was wondering what makes someone eligible for this? I'm super stoked that I was picked and probably would still be excited even if it was some random draw of the name. I'm just a curious person by nature.

So, how are these random assignments assigned? Have you ever had one magically appear?

I wasn't assigned randomly, but after 3 days of submitting things towards reviews, I finally got one assigned to me. The French Rabbit. It's listed as you cant purchase it.. I'm looking online and it's a $70 toy! Cant complain for someone whos got a limit of 40! I need to throw out my jelly rabbit anyway so this gives me a reason to now

What did you get?

You are talking about DR reviews? If you are I'm really curious about this too. The two times I was sent one, they just appeared. I got an email saying an "Administrator has sent you an assignment". I was like HECK YEAH!!!!

In my experience, they just appear for me too. Sometimes they come in waves, and other times you go through a dry spell.

It's always exciting for me too. I've gotten some REALLY nice toys that way, most of which I probably wouldn't have ordered otherwise because they wouldn't have caught my eye. But I've ended up LOVING many of them - like my Jopen and my Insignia.

That would be pretty awesome I'm pretty new but it's nice to know that sometimes you could get assigned something just because

Oh, that's great!

You know, I don't think they're random, actually. I was in a forum post once where someone from EF popped in to say that they were bookmarking the post to use to assign products, so I think it has to do with a) things you select when you sign up about preferences b) probably the products you already have reviewed and c) things like the forum posts?

Granted, that's a lot of guesswork, but I do remember filling out interests when I signed up (either for the site or the review program, don't remember which) and that forum comment made me curious.

I don't have the answer but I'm marking this tab in case someone does! I do know it has something to do with the preferences you chose at the beginning, if you're open to using more things, I'm sure you'll get more. You probably also have to be an advanced reviewer and your contributor rank may also have something to do with it as well.

I assume the Administration does have some kind of order to this, but I think it's more like a list of people who have all their assignments done, and aren't behind. I think it's random. I also think they try to make sure not one person gets them all, so we are all equal with these push assignments.

DR reviews are different. You have to apply for this program. Guidelines Only those who are approved for the program get DR reviews. You can get awesome stuff and you can get cheap stuff too. I assume they have an order of who doesn't have a DR currently and send out the items in a order so you don't have too many at once. I do think they try to send out the more expensive items to those who have shown themselves to be dedicated members and are very timely with their assignments.

What you are taking about are Manufacturer assignments. Those will be posted on the forum if there are a lot they need to get reviewed fast. So, it's first come, first served.

Manufacturer assignments are sometimes push assignments, but I think that is when they need the review and someone hasn't taken it.

Also, since these are random and pop up magically, it's a good idea to check your assignments often. Because you never know what could be in there.

Oh? It wasn't an assignment posted to the forum though, it was someone in a post about gender identity/sexuality saying "Hey I'm going to bookmark this to help assign products".

That was probably Jr. He assigns our products. He tries to assign items to those who the product is for. For example sending a male masturbator to a female might not be as useful as a male point of view. They do use that guideline that you file out. It's the My product type preferences and the My product material preferences.

I don't think I read your post all the way. Sorry about that.

JR! Yes! I was actually driving myself nuts trying to find the post because I was like I KNOW I DIDN'T IMAGINE THIS. *laughs* And yes, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

Beck said it all! Jr is our administrator that assigns the assignments. There are manufactured sponsored assignments and Eden sponsored assignmenta that he assigns. Sometimes they can be found in product search under manufacture assignments and we can ask for certain items that are in the list, but it's on a first come first serve basis. There is also our monthly assignments that we get once a month as well as buy out assignments. Again the last is descriptive review assignments, those you see on the product page describing the product in a non bias behavior. Those have certain guidelines that have to followed, as well as being accepted into the program before you are accepted? Usually when they don't have a price yet or say discontinued they are brand new items they have brought in and need someone to review it. Congratulations on your new product, I hope it is a good one for you!

I've never received a random assignment and the product I recently requested for the month, I was turned down. I need to find something else and submit for approval soon.

So I'm reading about DR, and I didn't specifically apply to a program or anything, but one of my reviews has been the on the product page for one vibe already.

So, do they just decide who gets those reviews randomly as well? Or do they make their own list of who gets the DRs that is separate from push assignments?

I don't think they present them differently. If I had known my review was going to be on the product page, I would have probably done it more unbiased.

Yes, this is what I meant I just didn't know they were called DR reviews. (I've been here like 2 months, I'm still a newbie!)

Um, I think it's called Intense Ring. It's cool because I've never used a cock ring with my guy before, so it'll give us some variety!

Under your Assignments, it lists what type each assignment is. If it says "Free/Description review" then it was a DR. If it just says "Free" or "Buyout" or something else, then it wasn't a DR. When you're given the assignment it will say in the assignment cart what kind it is. (I'm glad for that!)

Sometimes, before a DR is done, they will put someone else's review on the product page. It happened with some of the DR's I have done. Then, once the DR is submitted and published it will replace the review that was temporarily on the product page.

I haven't gotten an administrator's assignment in a long time. Really like 1 we got and hated the other 1.
