I have pale skin with an olive tone so it can be frustrating to find shades that look good on me. I like NARS Dolce de Vita, although I sometimes wish it were just a bit brighter. It goes on smoothly and doesn't make my lips feel dry or sticky like some lipsticks do.
How can anyone choose just one shade when they're so very many to try on? >w<
Although if I had to pick, I think my favorite at the moment would be the Loreal HIP gloss in "Enticing". Just found out it's discontinued though...might have to stock up online. =<
I've tried so many, from high-end to drugstore, and my absolute favorite right now are the Revlon Lip Butters. I like Candy Apple and Tutti Frutti, but they're all really nice.

What a shame, that looks like a really nice shade...
My current top faves are:
Mac - Bare Again (nude)
Mac - Coral Bliss (light pink)
Revlon - Pink in the Afternoon (darker pinky nude)
Wet n' wild - Within These Adobe Walls (warm pink)
I also like Rimmel and Maybelline lipsticks.
Unfortunately most lipsticks dry out my lips, especially Mac. I'm starting to think that high end lipsticks don't last longer or treat my lips better than drug store brands.
And I know what you mean about it being hard finding shades that look good. I have really pigmented natural lips and it changes the shade of the lipstick when I put it on. They always look so nice in the tube..

I know it's expensive, but NARS doesn't dry my lips out. I thought my other lipsticks were o.k. but after switching back to one of them after using my favorite one for a while, I could really tell the difference.
My favorite is a Merle Norman's Lip Pencil Plus (lip liner on one end, lipstick on the other) and the color I like is called Gold Amber. Then I put Elf Glossy Gloss over that in Pink Candy.
What a shame, that looks like a really nice shade...
It depends on your tastes really, but it is a gorgeous color. And it goes on the same color it looks, unlike some of the stuff I've tried.
I've always been a sucker for colors in the red family when it comes to lip makeups. x'3
