it was my prom dress. I think it was maybe $250 or so I don't remember exactly. I know it was a designer dress that was marked down. I wore it to prom twice and homecoming once, so at least it wasn't a one time deal.

A winter jacket. I think it was right around $150. But they are guaranteed for life, so it was well worth it.

My wedding dress was by far the most expensive clothing item I've ever bought.

I don't really think I have any expensive clothing. The most expensive items I own are shoes.

Yep, that would be the wedding gown. It was a Maggie Sottero that retailed for $1100, but I found it online for something like $550. It's gorgeous--I still have the damn thing, 10 years later, and need to sell it.

Sadly, my lingerie (even just a freaking corset alone!) is way, way, way more expensive than even a full outfit I own!

The very most expensive article of clothing is probably my prom dress. Now that you asked this question here, it just kind of opened my eyes even more to how ridiculously priced lingerie is! Holy crap. A $70 corset!?!?!? The pair of jeans, belt, bra and shirt I am wearing right now didn't even cost half that! What the hell?! That's really insane.

Now I do have a skirt and several pairs of jeans that costed $40. BUT that's because only ONE brand of jeans would fit my strange build for years. Until this past year when I found a new brand that does work for me and is half that price -- $20 jeans, and they're wonderful. Actually, they were $40, but they always go on sale. One pair was only $10. And they actually ended up being even more comfortable, flattering and stylish than those damn $40 ones I'd been buying for years.

Ooooh... if purses were included? Well, I do have two purses that were stupidly expensive. One was like $50 -- a lovely velvety zebra print bag with a pretty big bow in the same material on the front & a large diamond-y rhinestone thingy. It's kind of almost worth that price & it was a gift from my lovie when we went to Panama City. The other is a Betseyville pink sparkly zebra print bag. I paid $60 for it & cringed over that! It would've normally been at least $100 had I not found a bargain. So really, it isn't THAT bad. But I just don't feel comfortable spending that kind of $ on something like that, but every now and then, it's not such a bad thing.

I don't really buy expensive clothing, but if it's going to be anything it's going to be a nice suit.

We went to Harrod's in London and there was a pair of jeans that were...frankly...obsce nely expensive. However, we were young, brash and full of cash, at that point in our lives and I wanted "something" insane from that store, so I got them. I wore that pair of jeans for almost 20 years. It was more a matter of them not fitting, then them wearing out. I got my money's work, really, in the long run.

A pair of jeans, they weren't even that expensive, but I don't spend much on things like clothes. I'm a sale searcher!

My wedding dress... Got it on sale and Sill paid $900 for it. So pretty... but not sure it was worth it for something I wore for a few hours.

I bought a dress from Express (it was about $150), and it has since paid itself off. People have loved hiring me for shoots in that specific dress.

I thought it was a $70 dress I bought a few years ago, but I think it may actually be my wool peacoat, which was around $150, I think.

Suit blazer -- wowza, about 198 dollars. It was worth it and it's the most practical, long-lived, great-fitting piece in my wardrobe, (and someone even bought it for me) but I kind of stagger when I think how expensive it was.

Yep--I love Calvin Klein suits, because both the jacket and pants fit me in a single size! In many two-piece clothing items, I have to get a size up in the bottoms. Also, no need to pay the $160-or-so retail price--just go to Ross.

A hoodie for around $60...that was about a dozen years ago. My mom told me it was a "boy" hoodie, so I bought it!
