When was the last time you were proud of yourself?

Doesn't matter for what, although I'd like to know, if you want to mention it. But, as long as you were genuinely proud of yourself that's what I'm looking for.

I have 4 small kids and a husband to take care of, let alone a job, and myself. . I'm proud every day.

The last time I was SUPER proud though, is when I got the job I have now. I really truly love it, and it's in a field I've never been in before. I'm learning a lot, and gaining amazing job history! I'm really young, so the job history is a big deal to me.

Today! We finally got the mesquite tree that the storm took out off the house. Add that to the two days of yard work and visible difference and I'm feeling pretty darn proud of myself! Thank goodness for Home depot, brute strength and a neighbor with a chainsaw.

...a few times this week actually.
I made the basic structure for a pair of elf ear cuffs (As you may or may not know from browsing the forums, I'm a huge LoTR fanatic, and obsessed with elves in particular, so I absolutely had to make a pair. =^.^= ), and I did the line art for one of my Subeta pet's overlay images.

In my opinion, it came out awesome given it was the first time I've really drawn anything with my Wacom tablet, I even tweaked it to make it a bit better after the version below was put up on dA.

(Sorry for the excessively large image, I haven't scaled it back down yet because I need to do the detail work in a big size to make it look good.)

Hey, that's really good! I didn't know you were an artist as well as a writer, and also a jewelry maker! (I don't think the image is too large, it's the size of this comment!)

@ KissTheSkyBaby !!!You never mentioned a tree fell on your house! We talked all night & not one peep! OMG I am glad you are in one piece! Congratulations on finishing all that hard work!

@ViVix, I would be over the moon to hit 25, let alone 100!! Congrats!

@ LoveX, sounds like you have LOTS to be proud of, I'm impressed & exhausted just thinking about all you must have to do in a day!

@dancing duo, I feel you on the awake part, ha ha. Take your triumphs where you may!

This happens most days for me at work when I'm able to streamline a process and accomplish my task more efficiently, especially when someone has taken the time to share new innovative technology. Of course now that means I'm assigned a lot more to do but that's okay because it makes me feel even prouder that others can depend on my abilities.

I was able to ace an interview and was among the top chosen for a position at a job I had in April (after three years of unemployment). I was most proud that the combination of my degree and interview-coaching paid off.

Unfortunately, I developed anxiety attacks during the job and had to resign after three weeks.

That sucked so much, I'm only just now getting out of that depression. I still feel shame that my anxiety fucked it up so much.

Other than small, little moments of pride, I was proud of myself last month when I graduated from a four year university

Congratulations! Women's Studies, right?

@Chilipepper, I am sorry to hear it turned out like that! At least you know that you can likely use the same skills you used to land that job, to land another one. I don't believe that it was your only chance & there have to be other jobs out there better suited for you. I only know you from the forum comments you post, but just that much exposure has me impressed with your intelligence & breadth of knowledge.

I hope you continue to pull out of this depression. I wouldn't look at it with shame because there is no blame to having panic attacks. No one would blame you if you had a heart attack, right? I thing there is still the perception that any mental condition is just something you need to overcome with a strong will, as if it is controllable. Nonsense, just because no one can see that something is broken, doesn't mean it isn't & you have no more control over it than an asthma attack! It sucks that it didn't work out, but it's not your fault, either. But knowing that & feeling it are two different things entirely, aren't they?

As silly as it sounds, I'm proud of myself any day I'm able to get out of bed before 11. I take medication that makes me extremely tired, yet it's difficult to sleep. It's a struggle to get out of bed in the morning and, more often than not, I force myself to start my day even though I'm exhausted.

While I failed to wake up until noon today, I was out of bed by 10 yesterday. My silly pride kicked in.

I'm proud of you too! It's so difficult to find medications that harmonize with your body. I don't know your circumstances, but I wish you the very, very best.

The last time I was proud of myself was when I was talking to my bf about my goals and my worry that I would fail. He helped me remember how far I've already come, and told me that he believes I have just as far to go.

I have an internship right now. My boss asked me to do something and I don't think he expected much. It turned out that I did really well and even got complimented on my work by someone higher up than my boss. Exceeding expectations is fun

I holed out a shot for an eagle on the 18th hole of a tough local golf course. The result was a tie of my person best 76.

But as some others have noted - family is far more important and I have every reason to be proud:

My daughter just graduated from SDSU with a BA in Art History

My son is serving as an Airman in the USAF

My wife is an outstanding vice principal at a school where she helps children and families every day

You know, I really don't know. Maybe when I actually sat down and got to work on my novel, I was a little bit proud of myself. Not super proud. I really don't think there's many things I just feel proud of when it comes to myself. I mean, I'm proud that I've gone to school and am working on getting a good education and I'm proud of how I've turned out for the most part.

I dabble in a lot of arts and crafts genres, it keeps my brain in line a bit more than it would be otherwise. I've found keeping my mind occupied makes it easier to keep my schizophrenia from flaring up, so I'm always working on something. x'D

Just finished the ear cuffs last night actually, can't wait to wear them out somewhere. >w<

Don't you dare feel ashamed of something like that!
Anxiety happens to even the best of society from time to time, and near as I can tell, you're an incredible woman with tons of wonderful qualities that ought to be obvious enough for any employer to notice.
You ought to forgive yourself for things that, most likely, are beyond your control.

Usually I use a combo of rescue remedy (drops, but they even have a gum now) and an aspirin when I feel an anxiety or panic attack coming on and it helps a lot. I'm not sure if it's something you've tried or not, but it might make dealing with them easier at least.

I'm proud of myself for planning a vacation for my DH and I all by myself, even though it didn't quite turn out as I had hoped. I have severe anxiety and I managed to get through the trip-flying, transfers, morning sickness, sunburn, disappointments-and hold it together reasonably well. I even went on a boat without my DH with a group of people for snorkeling (he doesn't swim so it would be a waste of money.)
