Of course you are going to have a bunch of people say Chrome, but I think that Firefox crashes far less and is more user friendly and that more than makes up for the (supposedly) slower speed. Also, I like my programs to talk to me like I'm an adult not like some stoner burn out the way Chromes error messages are.

Technically, text-based browsers like Lynx and ELinks will be the fastest, most crash-resistant browsers.

Firefox, after I've tweaked it. ;-) Doubling the number of connections your browser allows to a server makes load times incredibly faster.

FireFox! I absolutely despise IE. It gave me so many problems. It actually quit working on me a year ago, and still won't work IE is a disasterous POS, in my opinion. Google Chrome totally screwed with my computer, so I've really loved Firefox so far. I've used Safari on my mom's laptop and it's just as well, but I've got FF, which I've been happy with, so I'll stick with it. Plus, I hear it's one of the fastest.

Speed depends on your internet provider too -shrug-
I use firefox without complaints - but i don't use any other browsers to be able to compare 'speed'
