White Corn, Yellow Sweet Corn, Exotic OTHER corn? What is YOUR favorite??? How do you like to cook it?

We LOVE our corn on the cob, but have still never found any sweeter then some of the fresh from the garden or farm YELLOW varieties. Whites are CRISP, but rarely as sweet.

Sometimes we "roast" an ear on the BBQ grill, with butter, but mostly, we simply BOIL in water, put on the butter and salt and munch away. YUM. How about YOU?

I guess I just like regular corn on the cob, there is a farm nearby here that grows literally some of the best corn in existence (my opinion that is hehe)

I'm on the other side of this. Yellow corn has a stronger flavor - the white is more subtle and we prefer it. But of course we adulterate it with butter and salt - mmmm......

The best corn I have found very sweet is the mixed yellow and white corn.

I soak the ears of corn with the green husks on them in cold water for several hours. I have a grill that has a turn-crank handle which blows forced air at the bottom of the grill. This creats a very hot fire. With only wood in the grill, I add the corn cobs on the grate and allow them to cook over direct heat. I turn the corn so that all the sides (green leaves) are blackened. When they are ready, I pull them off the grill and (with gloves) peal back the leaves which then act as a handle and allow each guest to smother the corn (which is steaming) in melted butter. Sprinkle some salt and enjoy! I've never had corn better than this!!
