Who pays the bills (if you're in a relationship)?

He does. All I ask is that he gives me confimation of what bills have been paid because I don't like surprises, or at least not those kind of surprises. I haven't worked in three years or so...when the economy tanked it was better for us, financially, for him to work and for me to stay home. Would love to do something part time or full time from home.

I do. I work in finance so I guess it just falls on me to handle the money. My husband has NO idea how much we have, where it is, what it's in, etc. I have it all in a binder so should something happen to me he knows what to do and where to go. So long as I'm here, he has no interest. I tell him if I'm concerned about us not having enough or that his spending needs to decrease on something. If he needs to spend more than $100 he asks if we have it before buying it. We each have our "blow accounts" that 10% of our paychecks go into that we can spend on whatever we want. His blow account is the only one he actually pays attention to. I, on the other hand, check balances on our many accounts each day. I can usually spit out balances on every checking, savings, and investment account without looking them up. Thus why I handle the money. If he paid the bills, we wouldn't have a house!!

It's me at this point. He pays his car insurance and for gas, but everything else I pay for right now. When we have our own place things may change, but for now things are working.

Well since I do not work he does. We look at it like it is our money though. Unless we are fighting then it is his money. And I do not know the meaning of work because I am just a stay at home mom. Like that job is not hard.

We both contribute. Although she makes more, I tend to be the one that actually signs the cheques. It all evens out.

We both share our money equally. Sometimes he makes more than I do, and sometimes I make more. Just depends on the circumstances. But we have a joint account. I sit down and pay the bills, he pays when we go out on errands and such.

He pays the mortgage-his house, and I pay the rest right now. We have always kept our finances separate.

Wife takes care of everything, has since we first started living together. Would not have it any other way.

I handle everything. We pay all the bills online and his checks get direct deposited. So it's all in my hands. Muahahahaaa

I handle most of the finances though it's gone back and forth between the two of us when one or the other has been unemployed, but generally financial decisions, taxes, etc. are on my plate.

I handle all the money and budgeting. His pay cheques have been going into my account for over a year now.

Boyfriend can't budget to save his life. I write up the numbers and give it to him. Can't be bothered handling it myself.
