Would you change your name if you could without problem?

My name is me. I may not be in love with it but I wouldn't change it. I did change my last name when I got married, though.

I'm okay with my name, it's not bad so I'd probably never go through all the name changing stuff.

I hated my middle name it was awful and horrid to me. It made me feel sick saying it. I am glad my Dad insisted on naming my first name because otherwise my middle name would have been my first name. I am glad my Mom lost on that one. When I got married and legally changed my name I quickly dumped my middle name. I made my maiden name my middle name. My middle name was Yvonne. I just hate saying it and reading the name. Don't ask me why I can't stand it because I don't know why but I just hate that name. So I go by my birth first name, my maiden name as my middle name and my husband's last name is my last name. The only thing I hate about his last name is it is so long. It takes forever to sign forms when I have to sign my name several times.

The one thing I hate about my last name is our version of the name is the German spelling. Our name is Zimmermann and everyone leaves off one of the n's on the end which pisses me off. The american spelling is Zimmerman. Since my husband is German (I'm American) we are stuck with the German version.

I hate my name, mainly because while working at a general store when I was younger, I had a very embarrassing (at least at the time) conversation with one of my bosses. It involved being told that I shared the same name as some old porn star from like, the 1980s. These days, it obviously doesn't bother me, but when I was 16, it sure did!

I go by my middle name, so it tends to make things complicated when I have to go by my first name on legal papers, with doctors, school, and other such situations. I really want to change it permanently if it weren't for the costs.

I am currently in the process of changing my name to a shortened version of my "real" first name. Everyone already calls me by the shortened version, and the end of the longer version just really really irks me. It also sounds too feminine for me.
