Would You Include Sex Toys in Your Will?

Contributor: Kynky Kytty Kynky Kytty
I was reading this post by Shepegs about a woman apparently getting a heart attack while using a vibrator, and it got me thinking.

Do you care about what will happen to your sex toys after you die? It's not like I'm married and that my partner will take care of that for me. But you know, even if I know most of them would probably go to the trash, some of them can be sanitized and be used by a new owner. It seriously breaks my heart to think that some of my Phallix toys could end up in the recyclable bin or the trash.

But it's not all, I'd be uncomfortable, even dead, to know that my children or siblings would go through my things after my death and see all my collection of toys. It's not like I only have one or two... I'd probably assign a best friend to go though the most personal things before the family could go through the non-sexual stuff.

The poll question is 'Would you dare have a section in your will to give some of your toys to someone else?'.
And the open question is 'What would you do about it?'
Answers (public voting - your screen name will appear in the results):
My will already has a section for that.

I would, but only if I had not previously discussed this with children. My children would have access to my dungeon and our sex toys, most likely, after my death. If my girl was still alive after I passed, then she would be the one to look over it until her death.

Also, if my children happen to...not be into that..I would find some way to donate them to friends who are.

This is a great question actually. I don't have a lot of toys as of yet...okay, maybe I do, adding what's at my boyfriend's place. but I digress...

I don't really have a lot of friends. Certainly none that I'm close enough to that would actually want my toys. I can think of only one friend and if we're still talking for years to come, maybe I'd talk to her about it. I would hate to die and have my family discover these things. Actually, my family is really just my dad, my boyfriend's father, his stepdad and mother and my boyfriend himself.

I don't know what I'd do but I think I'll ask my boyfriend tonight. Helluva conversation starter

I bet tons of people on here would want me to put it in my will under their name lol!

But...I never thought about it. I don't even have a will. I have a life insurance policy and that's it right now. I'm only 22. But, hypothetically, probably not because even though I have hundreds, a large majority couldn't be shared. If someone requested it...I would. That way that person could get them out of my house before my parents or family saw them all lol. Not a bad idea actually lol.

I haven't ever thought about it since ..until recently I only ever had one or two at a time. Now though I have to say that I probably wouldn't leave them to anyone, I don't know anyone who I would feel comfortable leaving them to, and I don't even have someone other than my husband who knows about them and that I'm close enough to that I could say...hey if I die can you come grab all my toys?? So, I guess if my husband and I ever both died suddenly whoever cleaned out our house would think that we're a bunch of freaks between the sheets.

Funny story:

I dated a girl once who lost both of her parents within 9 days of each other (ok, not funny).

BUT

When it came time to go through their stuff to start the healing process, lo and behold, guess what we found: A big ol' dildo with her mom's stuff and a stack of hardcore BDSM mag in her dad's stuff. Somehow I ended up with the mags and the dildo was secretly stashed in the garbage before anyone else found it.

Moral of the story: Get a buddy who will go through and get all your toys/mags when you die so no one else has to find them.

I used to work with this guy who had moved back home with his parents. He was single and he always told me "if I die please drive to my house and tell my parents that I sent you to get the large box in my closet. Don't look in the box, just take it and throw it in a dumpster, don't ask questions" lol

As for myself, I don't think I'd have a will or anything since I don't want any children, so if I died before my bf/hubby (if I have one) he'd get my things and if he wanted to remarry I don't see why she can't use them. I mean, I'll be dead after all, what do I care? lol.

Are you taking names? But really this is something to consider especially for those of us who are very much in the closet with our toys. My husband and I do have a will with a note attached in a sealed envelope. The lawyer has no idea what is in the envelope just to give to our friend immediately who is given instructions.

I don't have many toys just yet. But I am with someone who can take care if it (like throwing it away).

Well, I guess that's what I mean with the will. To have instructions after your death to have someone take care of that, even if it's not on the legal will.

Yea, I definitely think that's a good idea to do, something like the envelope that's just to be given to the friend. I have to say though this has made me think..maybe I should start keeping my stuff in one place. Right now I have ones downstairs in different cabinets and drawers of my desk and then upstairs in two different drawers. If I was too actually leave something in a will to say where they were for the person to get them I might need to start putting them all in once place. I think I need like TWO of those beautiful devine playchests!

I don't really see the point in addressing my collection in my will. And I don't have to worry about them shocking my family once I'm dead. My entire family knows and so do my friends. I haven't discussed with them about what to do with my toys once I'm gone, but I'm sure they'd figure something out.

I've never really thought about it. I mean I have a few family members that know about everything, and I would be ok with them going through everything. I highly doubt anything would get passed on to anybody else tho.

I've never even thought about making a will, although I do have a life insurance policy.

My friends and I have actually talked about this before. We decided that we should each designate a friend who is responsible for clearing out our 'naughty drawer' or 'naughty closet' as it may be for some, lol, if something happens to us. After that, what happens to the toys is up the them. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable using someone else's used toys, but I agree that I'd feel a little sad about a few of them getting tossed. If, for some reason, my friend couldn't get to my place to take care of my toys, my mom knows I have a good sized collection and would be able to handle things.

I wonder how that'd work with our highest review people?

I actually have less toys now than I did a year ago. I'm not much of a hoarder, I guess, and when something isn't a "favorite" or is unused for too long, I tend to give them away. (Assuming they're silicone, metal, glass, etc and can be sanitized)

My friends love me.

I think if I croaked off before Taylor, he'd have a grand time giving away my penises...

I want a couch or bed that the cushions come up to reveal toys underneath, or there is storage under the mattress .

I never really thought about it before. I made my will before I bought my house at the time all I had was several firearms, and my trucks. I should probably update it. I wont include my toys.

Ile probably just put the contents and the house to one person, they can split it up from there. If they wana keep them they can if not they can get rid of my toys. Ile be dead so I dont care.

that's a difficult one. I never really thought about it before. I would prefer to tell a close friend and have them deal with it, however being male makes the whole subject alot more taboo. I suppose I could leave a note with the toys in case something ever happened to me and my family found it.

Never thought about it till this post, I have been thinking about it and decided that I would. I would make sure that the toys that are not "cleanable" are identified. The rest they can come here and read my review's on use and cleaning

First to my mom, She might be the most freaked but she has had a Wahl link by her bed for 30 years. mmm what do you think?

Second to my older brother, He lives in Alaska and I would have a note for him that reads "Something to keep you and your wife warm". It would ether be a great practical joke (pay back, come on "older brother") or they would really get off.

I just wish I could see there face when they get them!
