WOW....now it looks like Newt Gingrich is at the top of the Republican polls as the candidate to be (Nov 18, 2011). How do you feel about HIM???

There is no question, regardless of your politics, that the guy is a good debater and a pretty smart historian. However, I have heard both Democrats (who tend to hate him), and Republicans (who say he has "too much baggage" and is not electable), downplay the guy...even while he RISES in the polls every week now. Today they say he is the FRONT-RUNNER over Romney by 20 points!!!!! (Same time as current presidential approval numbers have dropped to ALL TIME LOW of 40% approval).

SO...what is your feeling about Mr. Gingrich???

even he doesn't think the poll numbers will last. if he's still on top come mid december and has started raising money, we'll talk. also, those all time low numbers are a little out of date. Obama's polling has risen back to the mid 40's in most polls.

It's been observed that because of the poor economy that this is the Republicans election to loose - and they are doing a pretty good job of it!

Lets face it we all all flawed and the press is out to amplify those flows in each candidate. These are some brave men and women to subject themselves to this level of scrutiny.

About Newt - there is no doubt he's more qualified than Obama was. As speaker of the house, he has way more experience than the Jr Senator from IL who is now president.

What I think were learning from Obama is that legislators usually don't make good presidents. Executives - mostly former governors like Clinton or Bush are better presidents. I know there are a lot of Bush haters out there - but at the outset of Islamist extremism, hard decisions needed to be made. Careful observers will note that Obama is using all the executive powers established by Bush. Even though at the time Obama labeled them excessive.

Back to Newt, he will not win - but he's a pretty smart guy.

Not the best republican candidate, but not the worst either. But then, I'm biased since I'm thinking who'd be the least of the evils on the slim chance that a GOP beats out Obama or is most likely to lose against Obama.
